There is no way that they would know this yet. They probably won't know until Friday or Monday how many deposits they have since they insist on us mailing the deposits.

They have to know how many they have received thus far. I understand what you're saying about not knowing the absolute final number of second deposits that will be received, but it seems unlikely that a lot of people just sat around until the 15th and then sent their deposits at the final second. They probably haven't told any TLSers about the number received so far, but I thought I would ask just in case somebody had heard. I guess I'm just anxious. I'm nervous that it's going to be a huge class (I would consider 260 to be huge).

I waited until Monday. I'm actually nervous because last time it popped up in my status checker the next day that they got it, and it hasn't yet this time. I know I am being irrational, though. I won't really be concerned until Monday.

...and bam, anecdotal evidence immediately weakens my arguement haha. I'm sure that you don't have anything to worry about, but i suppose that it wouldn't be a bad idea to give them a call and let them know that you did send the deposit before the deadline and you wanted to confirm that it was received.

Call them today and let them know, Eandy. I might even try to call and ask about a second deposit number.

I wish UGA would deposit my deposit ... anyone else still waiting to have that $250 go through?

Yeah...they changed my status on their website to say that they've received it, but it's been a week and it still hasn't gone through! Boo...

Also, have other people received the information about the summer program? It sounds like it'd be pretty beneficial, especially since it's free, but I think it's interesting that it's "need based" so I feel like I need to talk myself down on the application!

A 2L posted about it somewhere on this thread(though it may have been a different UGA thread) and said that (s)he didn't think it was really worth it.

Have people started officially receiving information about this? I haven't heard anything about it yet other then hearsay.

I got something in the mail on Friday...I live in Athens though so that might be why I got it before other people! It was basically a very general description of the program (Aug. 2-11 in the mornings, FYI) and a 1 page application. They said there's limited spaces available and priority would go to people who they thought could benefit from it most (i.e. non-trads or people with LSAT or GPA that were below their median).

I saw what that 2L said about it and I see where's he's coming from, but I don't feel like I could turn down free preparation, especially since I already live here so it wouldn't be like I'd have to change any of my plans. It'd be nice to get to know a few people too!

But its an extra nine days of law school. Everyone I have talked to has told me to enjoy myself. You have plenty of time to figure things out.

Jennylynn! What's your opinion (if any) on the summer program?

Also...this isn't huge, but is orientation an all day thing all 3 days? It's no biggie, but I'm supposed to move into my apartment the first day of orientation and I know that's going to suck pretty big time trying to get all of that done!

I didn't attend the summer program. Some people liked it, some people thought it was useless. It really depends on your personality as to whether it'll be good for you or not. If you're super freaked out about the whole thing, then maybe this will help your nerves. :)

I honestly don't remember exactly about orientation. I think the first two days were all day and the last one wasn't? Maybe? But yeah, that's definitely going to be obnoxious. Is there any way you can kinda settle in earlier?

IIRC, we got the afternoon off the first day to buy books and stuff. I am probably remembering incorrectly.

The only thing up right now(that I know of) are the start and end times thanks to the UGA Law Calendar. On the 12th, 9:30 to 12pm. 13th 9:30-4:30. On the 16th it has 9:30am-11:20pm(mistake?) with the description, "on the last day of orientation, those in the 2010 entering class will break into their respective sections and attend their first official law school class, Civil Procedure."

No mistake. First day = double civ pro. It's not that bad, though. Just make sure your alarm doesn't forget to go off and you wake up at 9:03 like me... bad first day. Don't do it, kids.

Jennylynn/Anyone else in the know--Can you recall when incoming students (1Ls) can start using the gym? I'll be kicking around Athens for a few weeks before orientation and would love to kill some time at the gym. Thanks!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
