Also just got my offer. Accepted mid-January. I have a Mordecai from Duke, when would it make sense for me to try to negotiate? Should I wait to hear if NYU or Penn offer anything?

Also got an offer. When do you think we should start negotiating? I have a larger offer I would love to use to try and get a little more scholly.

All non-Ruby merit offers I take it? Does anyone mind sharing the approximate size of their offer? Anything approaching full tuition, or is the Ruby basically the only shot at that? Looks like the 2/4 wave will have to wait a week or two for more scholly information.darthslughorn wrote:Also got an offer. When do you think we should start negotiating? Got the scholly offer - genuinely expected nothing so like... I'm not super bummed about the pocket change
Is Penn close enough ranked that i can use them to negotiate??

Anyone who interviewed remember how long it took them to get back to you? Had mine about a week ago so I know i shouldn't expect much.

It took 6 days but I also had my interview right before the first batch of acceptances. I think they release in waves? *not positive*Iam3hunna wrote:Anyone who interviewed remember how long it took them to get back to you? Had mine about a week ago so I know i shouldn't expect much.

Why law?
Why law now?
Why Chicago?
What am I doing between now and law school (I was a December graduate from UG)?
Resume related questions (questions about specific items or bullet-points on your rezzy).
Have you ever had a time when you were out of your element or comfort zone?
What is your greatest accomplishment?
If you could go back in time and redo one thing in your life, what would it be?
Discuss a memorable class or moment in a class.
Why did you choose your undergrad?
What is your preferred work style?
What do you do in your free time?
How would your professors describe you?
How would your peers describe you?
How would your coworkers describe you?
Do you have any questions for me?
"Who most influenced your decision to go to law school?"
Tell me about a challenge you faced?
Tell me about your current job.
Any points you want me to especially emphasize with the admissions committee?
"What is on your bucket list?"
If you could have a conversation with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?

Congrats on your scholarship! I'm pretty sure it's solely merit, because I got one today without applying yet for finaid.jotx wrote:does anyone know if the scholarships they sent out today were merit+need? Wahrheit - thanks for your consistently helpful advice ITT. can you elaborate a bit on what the appeal form looks like? haven't heard of a similar process for responding to/challenging scholarship offers at other schools so i'm really curious. thanks in advance.Wahrheit wrote:There is an official appeal form that they will send you. You can wait until then.

Re: Chicago C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Tested out my skype connection and camera last night to make sure I would be ready for my interview today. Worked perfectly. This morning I tested how I looked on camera using photobooth, which made me realize my glasses were reflecting the screen and I should put in my contacts. When I came back, 7 minutes before the interview, my camera was no longer recognized by photobooth. Interviewer called and I could not connect my camera. After trying to fix it for 5 minutes, she asked me to reschedule for next Monday.
I sent an apology/thank you email, but I guess that is all I can do. Feeling pretty bummed right now. Has this happened to anyone else? I know it doesn't reflect well, but this can't be a make or break, can it?

Re: Chicago C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Wahrheit, another question - do you know when the "bulk" of students got admitted off the WL? I tried to dig through the 2018 thread but it's not super helpful; probably a combination of not too many WL admits, and just kids giving up on TLS. I know you can wait as long as classes starting, but what is realistic - June? July? August?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
