you have ranked your top 3 favorite animals? this is clearly a subject i need to think about more
I didn't know black squirrels were a thing until I visited Georgetown during undergrad admissions. I was like, wtf is that thing

Edit: Then I saw the exorcist stairs and knew that something was wrong at Gtown (I just didn't know that it would be that they WL me 7 years later during LS admissions. lol)

1. Pandas
2. Great white sharks
3. Squirrels

Close runners up: Red pandas and fennec foxes.

I got an email about a week ago asking to to send in a bunch of materials for my in-state residency application. To anyone else who has had this issue: do you know if they put your application on hold until the materials are received, or, do they continue with the decision making process?

At least for me, this process is taking FOREVER and my acceptance was not contingent on a decision. I submitted the residency application mid-Nov and was accepted shortly after. I called the residency office last week and they are STILL processing and said it could be awhile...

I think the email I got basically said that unless being a resident was going to make a difference (i.e., you'd be WL/dinged as a nonresident but admitted as a resident) and it wasn't clear that your app for residency would ultimately be approved, it has no impact on the timing of your decision.

I submitted my residency app mid-October, was admitted 11/4 with a handwritten note from Dean Z about how they'd love to get me back to MI, and then have still heard nothing from residency. (I called sometime in the fall to confirm it hadn't gotten lost in the mail because they don't send you any sort of acknowledgement that they've received it...)

I said I preferred summer start. I wonder if that's holding it up?

I'm rapidly approaching the point where I can't really do that, though. Michigan is my favorite, but not so much that I'd go without visiting, etc.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
