Am excited to see what sort of non-Mordecai offers Duke will be giving out. Hopefully they're generous!

Now it's only provisional if you're applying for merit aid. If you tell them you don't intend to apply for aid, they autochange it to official.MaxinCoolin wrote:What do you mean? Do the fafsa and need access forms need to be complete before the financial aid interview? I filled mine out today but idk if they'll be processed by then (Friday)
Also I need to redo some steps since I forgot to put Duke in my list of 10 schools lol

my status checker says my scholarship letter was mailed on Feb. 6. I think I am an unlikely candidate for a mordecai, so this might be one of the first regular merit aid offers. should get it in the mail soon.

Nope, they just have to be completed before you get a scholarship decision.ub3r wrote:Do the fafsa and need access forms need to be complete before the financial aid interview? I filled mine out today but idk if they'll be processed by then (Friday)

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
I've been UR since the middle of December and had a date change (UR2) today, does anyone know if there is any standard for how long it will take for a decision to come? Does a UR date change mean anything at all?
thx!
thx!

Ok so maybe I'm a bit naive (excuse me), but is a provisional offer essentially an official offer? I mean is there anyway my offer is rescinded at this point? I would like to be considered for a scholarship but don't want it to hurt my chances for an official offer.leslieknope wrote:

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Your offer could be rescinded but only for a major reason - you end up not getting a college degree, you commit a heinous crime, etc. Applying to be considered for a scholarship is not going to make them revoke your offer. The reason they don't give you an official acceptance until after you receive a scholarship (or until you say you don't want to apply for scholarships) is probably for yield protect reasons. If someone doesn't really care about Duke, they may not end up going through with the scholarship interview/paperwork process and that helps the school's acceptance rate.MaxinCoolin wrote:Ok so maybe I'm a bit naive (excuse me), but is a provisional offer essentially an official offer? Priority reserve mid-November. LOCI, extra LOR, updated transcripts. Not expecting any movement until April at least. Wish I had the $$ to go down for an interview.lawschool1741 wrote:Priority Reserve mid December. Sent in a LOC/Why Duke mid Jan. This might have been answered but if I won't have my FAFSA information until much later, can I use last years information ?

You can estimate for 2014, then resubmit later once you've submitted taxes.Ris19 wrote:This might have been answered but if I won't have my FAFSA information until much later, can I use last years information ?
