This gives me hope that a solid retake could increase my scholly, because I'm currently below median. I'm afraid they won't have any money by that point though.Dream Weave wrote:The medians have dropped- now it is just a matter of how desperate they are with these really low gpasBitterSplitter wrote:Me too, lets hope that median drops! How do you know the medians dropped? Don't say LSN, that's not reliable enough. Not second guessing you, just curious of your sourceDream Weave wrote:The medians have dropped- now it is just a matter of how desperate they are with these really low gpasBitterSplitter wrote:Me too, lets hope that median drops! Now I'm seriously curious though. The LSAT median last year was 167. And we know it's been a rough year for law schools anyways with applications down. What do you guys think will be the LSAT median for this class this year?

Not sure at all. My application is only still alive due to my high GPA and strong soft factors. I will be interested to see what the LSAT median is this year as well.totalgleek wrote:Now I'm seriously curious though. The LSAT median last year was 167. You have to realize GW has one of the largest classes in the country. Their total cost of attendance is among the highest in the country and they have very little money. They will be able to keep a 166 but only because they have sold themselves to the rankings and are taking insane splitters over a 165/3.5totalgleek wrote:Now I'm seriously curious though. I think the speculation is based on the letter sent out to WL applicants with low gpas but high lsats.TheNextAmendment wrote:How do you know the medians dropped? I think you always would have gotten in with that 170- I was speaking more to the lower end of the spectrum!fLaw School Bound wrote:Grateful insane splitter here... 170/2.77Dream Weave wrote:You have to realize GW has one of the largest classes in the country. Woo! After previously receiving an e-mail about financial aid and seeing no updated scholly info, I thought that they were gently telling me I would not receive additional scholly info. However, I just got an e-mail a couple minutes ago bumping me up from 30k + some need-based to 48k.

Got merit $ bumped from 30K to 45K! (reverse splitter at 3.9/162) I asked a couple weeks ago not expecting anything and they said they wouldn't know anything until April 22nd at the earliest, so this was a very pleasant surprise. I will be attending GW in the fall!

whaaaaaaaaat are you doing using a 3.9 on GW?? I mean it's a good school but a higher LSAT could open HYSCCN doors for you easily! Even a 168+ would make u a lock for Duke or Michigan and def GULChopelessoptimist wrote:Got merit $ bumped from 30K to 45K! As someone with a HYSCCN LSAT but TTT GPA, I beg of you to take advantage of all the hardwork that went into getting a 3.9 and not waste it!

Re: George Washington c/o 2016
haha thanks for the encouragement! I think I'm going with GW because of their international specialty, the fact that they're in DC, and the merit $$ makes it much more realistic financially, especially since $$ is much harder to come by at GULC, at least based on what I've read. I also just don't want to have a gap year after undergrad before law school, I'd rather just go straight through. Trust me, though, I've definitely given the idea of waiting a year and retaking the LSAT more thought than is healthy! Who knows, maybe my Penn WL will pull through over the summer, and then everything is fair game again!

Think some more on it! Please don't waste that! With extra LSAT points you could even get closer to $120k at GW if you are set on it.hopelessoptimist wrote:haha thanks for the encouragement! Re: George Washington c/o 2016
Taking a year off was the best decision I've ever made. Many people I know took a year off and I cant think of one that regretted it. Dude were talking about hundreds and thousands of dollars difference over your lifetime for just retaking a test and enjoying your life for another year.
