Blue is a great color for appaering friendly and welcoming so maybe consider a blue tie? But also, a tie is by no means required if you want to wear the jacket with an open collar (which is how I dressed for mine.) As for tie or not, do what makes you feel natural and comfortable so that you can shine in the interview. How you feel is just as important as how you look, and you've got all the pieces so you're going to look greatSGrant723 wrote:LSATSCORES,
Never button the bottom button on a suit. Remember to unbutton the suit if you sit down. I would definitely lighten up on the tie. Big bold stripes are kind of a power statement, and you want to appear friendly and welcoming, not as if you were in a position of power. I would maybe lighten it up on the hair gel. You don't want to look like you just flew a leer jet to the interview. Remember, the most important thing is to be calm, personable, and confident. Also, make sure your shoes are shined and match your belt.
Goodluck!
But only in suits. Cause ya know, this is Chicago and we don't F aroundCrowing wrote:I think we should just turn this thread into a pw thread. If we did that we could probably hit the 500 page autolock before the end of the cycle

Bonus points if you go to the UChicago bookstore and get a tie with a phoenix on it2014 wrote:I'd wear a maroon tie. It looks good with blue, signifies confidence, and has the bonus of being our school color.

this reminds me of a guy at northwestern interview, a purple tie and a purple folder for his resume. forgot to look for his sock color though, but I bet it's purple...Xifeng wrote:Bonus points if you go to the UChicago bookstore and get a tie with a phoenix on it2014 wrote:I'd wear a maroon tie. Good luck tomorrow, man! Just relax and you'll be fine!LSATSCORES2012 wrote:Thank you everyone so much for your input! I went searching all around campus and got a dark blue tie from a friend's roommate's friend - so all set! And I'll lay off the hairgel
Yeah, this is by far my favorite of the waiting threads, and I don't post here much, either. I'm really, really hoping that when everything shakes out, I end up at Chicago.cslouisck wrote:I've been following this thread but don't think I've posted here yet, so I'm just stopping in to say that this has probably been the most helpful, and certainly the least abusive, of all the T14 waiting threads out there. Between the scholly dissatisfaction over at Columbia and the hair-rending over Berkeley's black box admissions process, this seems like a pretty sane place. Well done, Chicago applicants.

(We just need to talk with admissions and tell them to get Lavitz the #$%@ off the wait list and put both him and yourself on a Ruby scholarship where you guys belong.)
Thanks, man...I really appreciate it! Right now, a Ruby is more or less my dream when it comes to law school admissions. And sorry about the Need Access thing. It's odd, I had the opposite problem when I filled it out the other day. I'm over 30, and it seemed like I didn't have the option to skip all the parental BS. Hopefully you get it straightened out soon!Regulus wrote:Roger... I will make sure to tell them that "TLS users Lavitz, elterrible78 and WhiteyCakes* have an outstanding record of public service on online message boards that should be taken into consideration when choosing Ruby recipients" when I call them later this morning about my Need Access issues.WhiteyCakes wrote:Get me in on the Ruby party Regulus
