I applied ED so I am definitely attending. Whoever from this thread decides to attend- see you next fall!
Also, msblaw, redmamba - in my sorrow I forgot we all updated. If letters were mailed 11/28...
Big thanks also to everybody in this thread for support and advice.

I'm also at Application Completed 11/21 with no updates or interview requests.
My address is international, even though right now I live only an hour away from DC lol, so hopefully good news is on the way for me too. Good luck to all the other 11/21 people!

Now that I've gone back and read, I'm hoping that that 11/22 update means the school postmarked my acceptance for then too. Would be great to be in at a school I can see myself attending so early and relieve so much stress.

Hey everyone... Im just checking in... I am one of those that updated on 11/28. I have a question: Do they only mail acceptances? But email rejections or wait lists?... reason I am asking is because I was told by admissions that a decision has been mailed when I spoke to them earlier. I I am so nervous....

Yes because I had to change my mailing adress and they informed that a decision has been mailed to my old address.

Hey, speaking of which, does anyone know if they mail it to your permanent address or current address that you put in your app? I think I may have put my house in NJ as my address on some of my apps before I realized this.ososmooth wrote:Hey everyone... Im just checking in... I am one of those that updated on 11/28. Nothing in the mail today for me, still at 11/21. Long way from DC, though.

Had my interview yesterday. My interviewer was nice and very real. Emphasized that it was more a "chat" than an "interview". I was only asked "Why Law School" and "Why GTown". After that was just a back-and-forth, Q&A session type deal. I felt like it went pretty well. Hoping to hear good news from GTown soon!

Just an e-mail about 2 weeks later from the dean. No snail mail other than the initial letter. E-mail also noted that the ASW wouldn't be up until December and included some twitter accounts if you wanted to follow:

Just got an invite for a "group" interview. This is different (worse) than a regular solo interview? Strangely I just went complete yesterday...

I don't know if someone has addressed this already but I was invited to a group interview in D.C. because I have "ties to the greater DC area" (my permanent address is in northern VA). I live in Austin though and I'm not sure that I can fly in for the interview. Am I screwing myself over by not being able to attend?

that's awesome! I just received an invitation to interview - How did you dress and do you know anything about how relevant the interview is to their decision-making process?hobojarpen wrote:Had my interview yesterday. I would ask if there are interview opportunities in your area or phone interview availability as travel to DC is not currently feasible.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I dressed business casual (khaki pants, dress shoes, dress shirt), but your interviewer might specify otherwise. A lot of our educated guesses on the role of the interview in the admissions process is that it's usually for applicants who are, for whatever reason, borderline candidates. In my case, I took the LSAT more than twice and am an applicant to GULC. From an older thread from around 2008-09 (so it might be different today) the percentage breakdown was 70-80% of interviewees are accepted/waitlisted, with the remaining being rejected. I wouldn't worry about it. All of the experiences (including my own) that I've read about on TLS have been good ones. Best of luck!theduffman wrote:that's awesome! Any suggestions on what to do if I can't make any of the group interview times they listed? I work on the Hill and they only offered times that were during session for us, when I barely have time to each lunch much less leave my desk for an entire hour.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I would definitely agree that an interview is a good thing. It would seem to indicate that, although a borderline candidate, the school has not yet made a decision on your application and want to give you a chance to sell yourself - always a good thing. Would they really offer the chance to interview if there was not a reasonable chance to gain admission? Sure, maybe, but at least in my mind I don't think so.
That said, has there been any discernible difference in the group vs solo interview? Or, is there the correspondence difference for both types of invites? I gleaned from the e-mail I received that mine would be a solo interview, but there is nothing that explicitly says that. Do we find out once contacted by an alum?

I've heard that a group interview is better. It is with the Dean of Admissions, not an alum.colforbin wrote:Just got an invite for a "group" interview. This is different (worse) than a regular solo interview? Strangely I just went complete yesterday...
