Wanted to post something you may not have seen from the Michigan 1Ls/2Ls/3Ls taking questions thread (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... start=1075).

I can actually answer the question about the "replacement LC" since I've been looking for apartments close to campus as a 3L and happened to stumble upon a few places that are already "reserved for the incoming 1L class". Here's a link to one of them, and you can probably find the others from here since most seem to be by the same management co:

That was my first thought as well, but hey, it's got plenty of amenities. The phrase "many include dishwasher" is a bit unsettling, though. If I'm remembering my LSAT prep correctly, many means "at least 2"... I hope there's more than that!

If y'all think that place is gross... you never saw the inside of the LC. And be happy you won't until it's renovated.

Just came across this--the Outlaws of UMich: http://www.umoutlaws.org/#!prospectives

The self-proclaimed "gayest law school ever." I know they are trying to rid the word of its negative connotations and portray UMich in a progressive light, but phrases like, "we have an enormous amount of resident fruit flies," just make it seem like they're trying too hard. Plus, there's the non-sequitur of calling your club "outlaws," while, in the same breath, touting Mich's acceptance of alternative lifestyles.
I love you Mich, but wtf?

As a queer law student at Mich, and a member of Outlaws, I can assure you that it really is incredibly gay friendly. The law school, on the whole is relatively liberal, and our Outlaws chapter is quite active. We're actually celebrating our 30th anniversary this year. As for the name of the group, Outlaws is a pun. Other queer grad student groups at Michigan include Outbreak (the queer public health students) and BGLAM (the queer b-school student group). If you have any questions about being queer at Mich law, feel free to ask.

Well... I guess what I want to know is that if I've applied RD, do you happen to know if they stop RD notifications until all ED apps have had a decision made on them? I would imagine they get a decent amount of ED apps, and if all those are guaranteed a decision by December/January (I'm not sure what the date is), it's hard to imagine they'd be able to pump out RD admits while also doing so for ED apps.

LSN doesn't readily show if an admitted aplicant was ED or RD, though. I was just hoping you, or anyone really, would have any first-hand knowledge.

It does. You can search for ED UM applicants on the LSN search function, and it'll have a list of all the EDers for a given cycle. And both RD and ED acceptances have been going out this month.

I could be wrong because I'm not an expert, but my understanding is that Michigan places a much smaller role on EDing than other schools (hasn't the Dean even said she's not a huge fan of the ED system or something of that nature?). I know UVa really relies heavily on EDers to fill a large percentage of its class. Since Michigan doesn't have such a reliance and even UVA (who does) managed to hand out RD acceptances while admitting their ED class, I can't imagine that Michigan would have to stop in order to evaluate EDers. I would presume it would continue as it has been, a mixture of both.

I'm RD and I got my acceptance before a lot of ED applicants. And I'm not even a sure shoe-in type of applicant either.
