well, according to TLS profile, he is below both medians (with a round down on the GPA i am presuming, so below a 3.85 or else he would have rounded up) and OOS.goingeast wrote:???paulinaporizkova wrote:it means you're gonna get a waitlist in the next couple of weeks

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
Some folks who updated last fall received WLs a week or two later. Others, like myself, did not. The real answer is that none of us have a clue what UVa's updates mean. Until you've heard otherwise, you've still got a shot. Keep your chin up!bryannance wrote:*looks around*bryannance wrote:I haven't sifted through all the posts, so probably a redundant question: My most recent status update was 1/10/11. Does that mean anything?
Thanks!

Seems like U.Va handed out a decent amount of acceptances to RD apps around this time last year. All the yellow that I had to sift through on LSN graphs has me worried as an OOS @ both medians...

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
After updating them with my unofficial transcript for my Fall Grades (since my official ones seem to have gotten lost somewhere), I received an e-mail from Dean Trujillo saying that I will be waitlisted today, but they will look closely at my Spring grades so I should finish strong. I'm withdrawing once I get my official waitlist e-mail.

Did they request your Fall grades or did you just send them? Also, did your g.p.a go up after Fall grades were posted?coug11 wrote:After updating them with my unofficial transcript for my Fall Grades (since my official ones seem to have gotten lost somewhere), I received an e-mail from Dean Trujillo saying that I will be waitlisted today, but they will look closely at my Spring grades so I should finish strong. Re: UVa. Regular Decision
I've been at "File Complete, Pending Review/Decision" since 12/30/2010.
However, I can't for the life of me remember if these "1st Seat Deposit" and "2nd Seat Deposit" lines were in my "Fees" section yesterday when I went through my status checkers. IS IT A SIGN? Or are those present for everyone once they go complete?

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
So I've been under review since September. GPA in between the 25th and median, LSAT well above 75th, OOS, no why-UVA. Should I send them a LOCI/why-UVA?

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
Hey guys, this may be a dumb question, but I have to ask. Currently, I am UR since 11/11, RD, OOS, no why-UVA, and at/above the both medians. Based on my other acceptances, I likely will not attend UVA (or 2 other schools I am still waiting on) barring major differences in finaid packages. However, those could sway my opinion or be used to negotiate with some of my other top choices. So, my question:
For schools in general, and UVA in particular, if I haven't yet been accepted, am I still in contention for scholarship money? More specifically, are LOCIs and Why X? letters going to lead to $$ offers at this point, or should I just be happy with my other acceptances and relax?

Hey UVA....how's it hangin? I just got back from a trip and figured i'd have a voicemail or email from you but didn't see anything...I'm sure you tried to call and got nervous when I didn't answer so you just didn't leave a message, right? Well I'm back now so you should give me a call sometime, we can hang out or grab a coffee or something. Anyway, I just wanted to say "what's up" and you know...just let you know that i've gotten phonecalls from other people so its not like my phone is broken or anything if that's what you were worried about. I still have the same number too, in case you were wondering about that. OK, well that's about it i guess....see you around.

Is it natural at this point in the cycle to just want to get rejected from all your remaining schools so you can start to focus on the options you DO have?
