Congrats man, looks like we were in a similar boat. I was sure Minnesota was a reach but had the fee waiver so I figured, "what the hell?" Maybe we'll catch a hockey game sometime in the next three years.
Yeah, I was fee waivered as well, although I probably would have applied anyway. I'm always down for some hockey. Although I suspect I'll be attending more college games than pro games. The Red Wings played the Wild on Sunday. It served as a reminder that, although I appreciate Minnesota's love for hockey, I feel bad that they're cursed with one of the most boring hockey teams in the NHL. Too bad they didn't keep the North Stars and give the crappy expansion team to Dallas.

Without a full I will likely withdraw, although I'll certainly try leveraging for one if I don't get one forthright. Already have attractive options and I'm debt averse... but I do get in-state tuition with reciprocity regardless. Minnesota's location was never a selling point for me. I don't care for their campus much in the downtown area.. it's such a hassle, but I have tons of family in the twin cities. lol I sound like a broken record that keeps questioning itself.
Sort of wild it took less than a week to submit to them and hear back. 6 days. That's impressive turn around for the adcoms.

I think my IR changed twice recently and finally today it said Decision Sent...any indication as to whether this is a reject, like acceptances get phone calls, etc?

"Decision Sent 2/25/2011"
No phone call or email, though, so I guess I'm dinged, right?

Me too... changed to 'decision sent' within the last 20 minutes. Seriously?... that seems like a crappy way to reject me. Just put it up on the status checker or send me an email.

I think so. I'm pretty sure admits see "Congratulations" in their status checkers, and I'm WL'd and my status checker says "Waitlisted."

Still IR from the 15th. My stats aren't great by Minnesota's standards, but my involvement in healthcare initiatives is likely what is keeping my app alive as I know Minnesota is known in the healthcare field.

Same with me. My status literally changed in the last 20 minutes also to "Waitlisted". No email yet.

I wish I were. I just know from speaking with admits and other WL-ers, "Decision Sent" is not on our status checkers.

+1, if I get rejected I would at least expect the courtesy of an e-mail so I can have the satisfaction of deleting it and pretend that I never applied to Minnesota. Ripping up a rejection letter while waiting for it for a week doesn't have the same level of satisfaction.

I expected a rejection, but I appreciate when schools go about it with some tact. So does "decision sent" mean my rejection letter is coming via postal mail? Still haven't received an email.

If what the other guy said is true, that accepted applicants have "Congratulations" in their status checker, then yes you were rejected.

yes, I know I'm rejected. But I'm wondering if my actual rejection letter is coming in snail mail or email.

Good question, when I got dinged at U Illinois I got the e-mail the day after my status checker changed. Although I know schools like Maryland correspond rejections through the mail. Nobody has gotten dinged yet? I would have figured by now we would know how acceptences/waitlists/rejections are handled at all schools. Maybe check last years Minnesota thread and see how they were notified.

Waitlisted via Status checker. After todays snow in the midwest, I don't think I would like to experience winter in Minnesota anyways. Good luck to everyone else!

According to that thread, there is no data on UMN rejections, yet. But acceptances are via phone call, WL via email.

Just received my rejection email. It was only like a 20-minute lag between status checker saying "decision sent" and the email, so its really not that bad. If I wasn't in OCD status-checker mode, I wouldn't have noticed at all. I do think they should just put "rejected" up in the status checker though... no need to beat around the bush.
Good luck with the rest of your cycles, everyone!
