What did it say?
law4vus,
Good afternoon.
I am writing to provide you with an update on the waiting list here at GW Law. As you are probably aware, our second seat deposit deadline was last week, and based on the responses to that deadline, we may have openings in the fall 2011 entering class. We anticipate making a number of admissions offers next week.
Our Admissions Committee has indicated that they are most interested in making admission offers to those applicants who are certain they will attend if an offer is made. If you are certain you will attend, please respond to this email. We will provide you with another update as the summer progresses.
We thank you for your interest in our law school and appreciate your patience throughout our admissions process.
J. Shelby-Wilson
Director of Admissions

Just as a friendly reminder, if you haven't already done so, you should put in your request for student loans. When I emailed fin aid office, they actually told me I should have it done by 7/1, though I'd think you still have some time. Do what you need to do at banweb.gwu.edu and at studentloans.gov .

GW undergrad got a brief mention in NBC Nightly News today... for being in the top 25 most expensive universities in the US.

I'm confused. Was I the only person who thought there would be a waitlist update today?

They close at 5 though...I wouldn't imagine them sending out something now given the holiday weekend. Right?

Okay, then I guess I can stay hopeful for a little while longer.

Anyone think they made offers of admission through the week, and those who didn't receive anything are just supposed to continue to wait?

It's certainly possible that they made offers this week, but just not to individuals who are willing/able to post on TLS (or even LSN for that matter). The last statement coupled with the fact that there wasn't a follow-up email to those applicants who weren't admitted (as was sent in the past) leads me to believe that they have not made offers. The optimist in me believes that GW intended to provide an update this week (though still one day left), but are unable to provide the update due to unforeseen actions by applicants and/or administration at GW Law. One example would be an abnormally high number of withdrawals from applicants who were admitted and/or placed on the wait list. I believe something of this nature has further complicated the decision-making process.

I really hope you're right TIME! It's better for us to stay optimistic. I still haven't heard anything either, and it is unusual that they didn't send an email at the end of the week telling us that they had made offers of admission and asking for us to continue to wait. Let's hope we hear something after the holiday weekend

No, I was just going to ask as well. It just seems strange to me that they didn't send out an update last week like they usually do if they did indeed make offers to people.
Really not sure what to make of it.

Agreed. They have been keeping us really informed, and the email they sent out last made me think they would let us know last week if we had to continue to wait.
It also doesn't seem to make sense that if they did make offers, that NOT ONE PERSON from LSN or TLS heard anything. I know it's a small number of applicants, but you'd think the people on those two sites would be among the most active ones in trying to get off the waitlist.
I'm tempted to call them but I don't want to annoy them, lol
