huh? english por favor
He's basically saying that we can assume a "reject" based on the deferments, but I'd argue that it would be unwise to assume that quite yet.
If you're a reverse splitter, it might be unwise to assume that quite yet. It looks like they're trying to boost their median GPA a bit. For everyone else, it'll be a tough draw at this point I think.

I sent my app at the beginning of January, and just got the complete email. Needless to say I will not be using IUB for negotiations, as planned.....may as well just withdraw, but if it takes them 3 months to send a complete email, may as well take me equally as long.

Hey all,

I was interested to know if anyone has attempted to engage in scholarship negotiation with IU-B or if anyone has heard about how responsive they are to merit aid requests.

Also, do you know who to contact specifically? Director of Admissions? Director of Admissions Operations?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! :D

I'd bet that not many have asked simply because they've been so generous with their early admits. I'm not sure who exactly you'd contact, but whoever you do, if they're not the right person I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction :-)

Maybe try Dani Wetherford? She's the director of recruitment so at the very least she would probably be able to point you in the right direction.

I know ASD already passed, but are any of you going to be in Bloomington in late April? I'm going to be checking out the campus and looking for housing April 28th and 29th. If any of you happen to be there around that time and want to meet up, PM me! :)

They offered to up my scholarship if I wait a year, so I think I'm going to end up deferring. I already signed a lease at poolside however, --LinkRemoved--, so if anyone is interested in taking it over, let me know.

Being close to the law school isn't too important to me as long as it is an easy commute (i.e. close to bus stop, etc.). I'd like to stay in a nicer apartment and am willing to pay for that (within reason). Any one have suggestions as to any specific complexes or areas that we should start our search? Thanks in advance.
I'll be at Millennium Apts. with my S.O. We already toured and they are really nice. About 2 miles away from campus, 24 hr work out facilities, indoor pool, private shuttle, quiet b/c it's more so couples, families and young professionals. Close to shopping too. It's 865 for a 2 bdrm, which is what we are doing. 15 extra a month for vaulted ceilings (top floor), 35 for animals and 35 for washer dryer rental (thy have hook ups). The kitchen is large and there are two full sized bathrooms as well as a larger deck or balcony.

I submitted my application at the end of February and recieved an "application complete" email March 21 stating that I will be contacted in 8-10 weeks. Does this pretty much mean I'm out of the running for admission? Or am I a borderline case, and they're waiting to see how many people accept?

Depends upon your LSAT score & maybe your GPA. Indiana will shower you with scholarship money if you are above their median on either number.

Actually, I think at this point they have enough high LSATs and are gunning to raise their GPA median now. The last group of people to get in all seemed to have GPAs over 3.8. So if you fall into the group, I would think you have a very good chance. :D
Based off the last batch of acceptances, I believe that the era of Indiana making it rain may have come to an end. But again, that's only based off one batch, so I could be wrong.

I was in the last batch of acceptances. For at least a couple of us the verdict is still out on scholly money, we are yet to receive our packets!

For those of you who were accepted via e-mail, about how long after you were accepted did it take to get your packet?

The proper term is postseason. For MLB anyway :)

Unbeknownst to myself, I've been posting in the doppelganger thread over here: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... &start=475

Can we merge these? I missed like 3 weeks of intense admissions speculation and a rare appearance by KCFELLA

Die!! No that's great we'll have some team diversity representation. Where I'm at now there is an overly dominant liking for one team by most students. Thus, I'm an outsider, which I wouldn't mind so much if there were at least some other students who liked more teams. Side note: Who in here can't wait for the NFL draft???

I'm sad that they broke the draft up the way they did. (First round on Thursday night, etc.)

A weekend with Chris Berman flippin out, Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, endless highlight clips, draft-day trades.. (sigh, CBA).. nothin' better. Pumped just talking about it :D

Berman is the F'n Man...Also, I like to watch both ESPN and NFL Network just so I can listen to Mike Mayock. Mayock always seems to be outdone in coverage by the feuding McShay and Kiper, but he definitely knows his shit. Yeah if I am able to put together a cohesive sentence come that Thursday night, then I must have done something wrong...here's to getting fucked up and yelling at the TV if my team doesn't draft a QB!!!

Hey

Does anybody know how binding is the email commitment I need to send to Indiana? If I email them telling them I accept the offer can I put down another deposit?

BigBen: Were you offered a scholarship to Indiana ? If so, that may make a difference as to whether or not your acceptance e-mail is binding. Best to e-mail or call Indiana admissions and ask.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
