+1 LOL. FWIW, I applied on 10/18. I should have said that there are plenty of Nov completes that heard all the way into Jan...Saya wrote:Actually, I applied 10/17.starsong wrote:Isn't that what TLS is for?Saya wrote: You give me hope!![]()
Not to worry, according to LSN, last year's acceptances for Nov. applicants came all the way through Xmas, and some even after...But went complete 11/03, too. I actually think I'm going to quit TLS until finals are over. This is taking a nasty toll on my GPA.

I completely understand the feeling!facetious wrote: +1. but camping out by my mailbox everyday waiting for my purple envelope only to be spat on by the mailman everyday is making finals similarly impossible to focus on.

Instead of calling their office, how about emailing them for a mailing status?

Re: NYU 2010
You know, going through this process, I am convinced the "timeline" aspect of TLS/LSN is a huge source of stress. Knowing when others hear drives us crazy. Yet response times are so unpredictable that they border on pure chance. It really is irrational to predict anything from a random process...fidesverita wrote:starsong wrote:Isn't that what TLS is for?Saya wrote: You give me hope!![]()

(remember, even the most "solid" trends on LSN suffer self-selection bias, and there's almost always an exception here or there that could represent a ton of people...)

Yeah, your profile is the most viewed by a long shot. I was just wondering if there was any particular explanation for it or if it's just sort of random chance. I was surprised to find you're only at 100-ish posts on here. Thought you'd be some uber-popular mod or something.violaboy wrote:And I'm just so freaking popular, I guess.rx3r wrote:His profile's been there for a looooonnngg time.LieutKaffee wrote:Quick question... why have > 30,000 people viewed your LSN?violaboy wrote:::lost hope::

Hahaha Saya don't worry! I'm international too and haven't heard anything either. I would guess that it may take a little more time to evaluate international apps. Remember it's only 12/12! Hang in there!Saya wrote:Nothing again today. I think I'm out.Being international is no longer an excuse.
And of course, we can always call if we don't hear anything...

I guess we *could* call. They're probably bombarded with phone calls like this all day. Sigh, it's good to know another international student is waiting! Except, it's not like I'm in Madagascar. Just Canada. lol, probably the least international I can be.starsong wrote:Hahaha Saya don't worry! I'm international too and haven't heard anything either. Hmm... I think they were discussing this a few pages back and the consensus was yes, you can submit it later. Before Jan 1? Don't take my word on the date, I can't quite remember.englawyer wrote:is it necessary to submit scholly essay with the application, or can it be submitted later?

lol, if it helps, I'm in the U.S. (w/foreign grades), so I think I'm even less international than you. And as a 3.9/175, complete same day as you, I haven't heard yet. Re: NYU 2010
For those that submitted their apps and are submitting the scholarship essays later (before Jan 1):
1) Did you still check the box for the scholarship you are writing when you applied?
2) Are you just going to email the essay as a PDF and ask them to add it to your file?
My app is ready to go but I'm still trying to get through this essay. Wondering if I should just submit and finish it the next two weeks...

I did check the box, and I wasn't sure if it would be best to mail or email the essay (and as a pdf or a a .doc).LS18 wrote:For those that submitted their apps and are submitting the scholarship essays later (before Jan 1):

I didn't check anything because I wasn't sure if they were going to expect the app right then and there if it was checked.
Hopefully they don't read into that as "she's not interested in applying to the scholarships".
