Sorry for asking a question which has probably been addressed previously. I was just invited to conduct an alumni interview in DC, but will likely have to decline (my registered mailing address is next to DC, but I currently live in Beijing).

GULC claims the interview is "optional, and non-participation will not negatively impact your application." According to the general consensus on TLS, is that true, or would declining to interview be a major error? I believe my numbers ought to be competitive even without interviewing (2.9, 179).

Anyone know the probability of getting accepted after having your decision postponed (by email)? I've been going through previous year's threads and can't seem to find any info. Should I submit a LOCI? It's not technically a waitlist so I don't want to overdo it.

Same situation over here! Someone please help! Idk if my stats are necessary for help, but I am a reverse splitter (3.93, 164).

I turned down my interview for location reasons - just said that it wasn't feasible for me as (explain) but I would love the opportunity to interview if there became an opportunity to do it from a distance or in my location. They responded and said that it was totally fine and they would let me know if an opportunity arose. I was accepted a couple weeks later in the first decision wave.

I'm not entirely sure Georgetown does date updates? I don't believe I ever got one. Just complete then mail when a decision is made.

I would ask for a skype/ phone interview

I would try my best to interview for sure. After interviewing, I felt like there was a huge emphasis on how getting to know candidates just that much more really tips the scales in their favor.

Sometimes, the schools don't use the status checker as effectively as others. Calm down. It's okay. I was admitted recently and mine still says complete with no date, no decision, and no decision date.

I sent my acceptance of the interview information to them last Thursday, and I have heard nothing from them or any alumni. Is this bad? Do people that take longer to be responded to get waitlisted? Did they forget about me?

I waited for about 10 days before the Admissions office reached out to me again and said they had to find a new alumni in my area. Took about 3 days thereafter. Hang in there!

I understand people are anxious, but I don't understand people trying to draw conclusions from this mailings box lol.

I received my acceptance letter to the part-time division today and it seems like GULC's admissions timelines are pretty much identical for both divisions. Here's how my admissions process worked out for those who want to compare their progress:

1. Complete at the very beginning of November,
2. Group interview at the very end of November where they told us we'd hear back in two weeks, and
3. Acceptance letter was postmarked December 7.

I will say with 100% confidence that my Mailings box has stayed the same size throughout this whole process - about 3 lines large - I have confidence it's just the default size.
