Hey, lurker here.
I just got provisionally admitted to Duke yesterday via PT! I'd like to go ahead and apply for scholarships later in the year, but—if I'm not fortunate enough to receive a scholarship—do I still retain my admission to Duke?
Slightly confused as to what 'provisional admission' really entails.
Thanks!

I don't know what you mean by this and therefore am confused by your question. Provisional admission for Duke just means that they haven't made financial aid considerations yet. If you need fin aid/scholarship, then when you submit the fin aid info they request later in the year, you will be offered a package and will be officially admitted. If you don't need fin aid/scholly, you can let them know immediately and they will send you your official admission.lodovicok wrote:Hey, lurker here.

They're not going to kick you out because you don't receive scholarship...I'm not sure how that makes sense.

Good! Yea don't worry about that language. Just sit back and wait for aid/scholly info to come out (if you need it). Otherwise, you're set! Welcome to the crew.lodovicok wrote: Thanks, you answered my question.

So about this email on day 10... does the subject line give it away (ie "Welcome to Duke Law") or is it something more generic that forces you to squeeze out one more ounce of your sanity by opening the email?

Fantastic. And I'm guessing the status checker reads "Your fate has shipped" right before the email is sent.basedvulpes wrote:They actually disguise it as an Amazon receiptvested wrote:So about this email on day 10... does the subject line give it away (ie "Welcome to Duke Law") or is it something more generic that forces you to squeeze out one more ounce of your sanity by opening the email?

Checking in.
Admitted through PT last night around 8:00 eastern. I'll wait and see some what other options I have, but Duke is looking pretty promising right now!

I heard Duke was one of the more laid back schools. Hours of study/day was lower than most other schools

Can anybody back this up?

After attending every T14 LS for a semester, I'd have to say it checks out.ruizdaw wrote:LittleGiants16 wrote:Checking in.

Re: Duke University School of Law C/O 2019 Applicants
Hi everyone,
I got an email this morning from Duke inviting me to a Law Admissions Road Show panel with the deans of Duke, SLS, and NYU. Did anyone else get the same or attend one of these in the past? I don't think I was invited just for stopping by at their LSAC Forum table because my friend did not get the invite. Is it worth going?
