does application going live only means that the submit option becomes enabled so you could fill up the application in advance before it went live? i was going through the thread and there were some submissions within like 20 min and couple of hours of live application, and was curious how is that even possible without seeing the app before.
I did a lot of practice apps to get my time down. The employment section was probably the most challenging one for me, so I drilled especially hard for that. When it was time for the real thing I was able to get all the questions in each section done in under 10 mins except for the employment section. I ended up having to guess starting and ending dates for a few of my jobs before submitting.
what books did you use? you should study harder and reapply if you had to guess on anything
Ugh the only app advice I can get from this forum is "refill". But honestly, I don't think I'm going to fill out the application again because the first time was so stressful, and I don't want to go through that again. Plus I majored in medieval chinese literature so idk what I would even do if I didnt go to law school this cycle. I'm just going to ride this cycle out and hope for the best.

I guess it's just to give you a chance to mention extracurriculars that you would normally leave off of a resume. It might also allow you to add a more detailed description of items that are on your resume. I had a lot of items on my resume and the employment/extracurricular/scholarship sections that matched (although the extracurricular/employment section does ask for the number of hours per week spent on the activity). Most schools don't seem bothered by the redundancy.

Just curious to see whether someone with a below-median LSAT has received JS 1? It seems that all people with JS1 in the spreadsheet have LSAT at least at the median.

I think there were a few people with both LSAT and GPA below the medians (non-URM) ITT and yet got JS1. I'm assuming they had great softs and/or work experiences and LORs

Is there a way to estimate how many JS1s have been given out at this point last year? The applicant spreadsheet maybe?

We have a rough estimate of how many JS1s have been given out this year thanks to HorseThief, and I'm curious as to whether they've given out more or less so far...

I'm figuring that they wouldn't offer more interviews than they have available slots, so I think my count might be accurate (+/- a few since I'm not sure my numbers are exactly correct). I don't know how helpful it will be this year, but maybe next year someone can do the same and get a better year-to-year comparison.

Oh definitely, your numbers are like the closest thing we have to real data! :P "Rough estimate" wasn't giving it enough credit, apologies.

I'm simply curious about how these JS1 numbers compare to this time last year. Ex we know that there have been less JS2s at this point (simply because none have been reported), and we could do a year-by-year comparison I think from LSN later on in the cycle, but for JS1s I'm not sure...

From the OP. Clearly we're on a different track this year entirely. Going back to 2009 it seems that JS2s came out before Thanksgiving pretty consistently, so there's no real way to know when they'll be coming this year.
I went through all of LSN's back data a few pages ago in the thread. Every year since 2004, acceptances have been the week of Thanksgiving. 2003 it looks like it was the first week of December, but it's hard to say how good LSN's data is from then since it was their first year. We're totally in the dark here, no way to know when or how we'll hear anything.

Because of this, every single e-mail I get, whether its at work or on my phone involves a slight panic attack. I'd imagine the same for those who have already had their JS1s except with the phone.

It's going to be so much worse when they start rejections... :(
