I know, no complaints here! I honestly don’t mind what happens with Virginia. I didn’t write a “Why UVA” and I know they love that shit. If I get waitlisted I’ll withdraw immediately.

Mine changed too (complete 10/26). Sounds like it happened both to people who would expect to get in and people expecting a WL, so I'd agree with Take Two that it's probably not meaningful. For what it's worth, I don't think I'm good enough to YP, so if we're all gonna end up on the wait list, at least I'll have earned it the old fashioned way.

to add to the baseless speculation I recieved the update submitted mid november end of october (with a no why UVA), kinda makes me think it was a generic RD update

Because UVA is notorious for WLing applicants and because people on TLS generally assume that status checker updates are meaningful in some way.

+1 more for the status change. I didn't write a why UVA because I wagered (correctly, thank goodness) that I'd be T6 secure. I'll probably withdraw shorty WL or not because as much as I love it, I don't see myself in C-ville next year.

At least the adcoms appear to feel about as lukewarm about my application as I am feeling about the prospects of attending! lol

So true. The schools I didn’t want to actually attend are the ones that haven’t told me anything, yet. Maybe they could sense it in my application!

Mine went under review as well. I would be unpleasantly surprised by a WL, as UVA seems to have accepted tons with my numbers and I wrote what I believe to be an excellent Why UVA.

Considering what the changes actually were, perhaps this edit to the header was intended only to clarify the process and cut down on questions from applicants. For example the change from 'complete' to 'complete and under consideration' could have been intended just to make people realize that their application was being reviewed and to stop waiting for it to go "under review" or something other than "Complete".

Yeah... guys, I think these header changes are meaningless. Perhaps they just decided randomly to change the wording. Since there is a new dean this year, maybe she had wanted to change the default header wording and they did not get around to it until now. Basically I don't think we can extrapolate much from this.

My header changed too. My initial interpretation (before I came here and saw all the waitlist predictions which) was that we were all in some "we'll get to these later" pile and, now that UVA has finished off with some in-target-range people, they're moving on to those of us that were stuck in the back burner. Considering it's UVA, though, waitlist is probably a pretty safe bet.

Change here as well, RD out of state with complete email on 9/20. I think this is definitely that "back-burner" pile, and we are now going into committee review.

I'm an early RD applicant (10/25ish) and saw the change.
