How much did you get from SU? If you want the NW, L&C is a far better school. But it isn't Seattle, that's for sure. Hopefully UW just works out though!snapdragon wrote:This. Maybe I should just take my scholarship to SU and try to be cool.

$17k / year from SU.. I actually already withdrew from L&C, only $5k/year there. If UW doesn't work out, I'll probably stay on this side of the country and just visit y'all a lotgeoduck wrote:How much did you get from SU? If you want the NW, L&C is a far better school. Snapdragon, I'm really pulling for you. I've got almost identical numbers, so if you make it then I'll have good reason to get my hopes up. And, if you don't make it, then just lie to us and say you did so I can keep my hopes upsnapdragon wrote:+1 here. I guess I'll stop stalking the mailbox.. if decision letters 2/15 haven't gone out yet then I doubt the 2/16s have!krad wrote:lolyup! I'm still "IR 1/21" but my letter was "sent" 2/16geoduck wrote:Yeah. UW's bureaucracy is ridiculous. You will get used to it if you go there. It makes total sense to me that someone would switch "decision letter sent" when someone else didn't switch the status to "decision" and when someone else hadn't even had the thing signed and sent yet. And they could mix that up in any order.

I'll bet that if it snows like it's supposed to tonight, it shuts down the office for the rest of the week and the letters won't go out til monday

It was supposed to snow last week when I was visiting the LS and instead it was sunny, but chilly.

I've been watching from afar but want to go ahead and jump in this thread and say good luck to everyone waiting! My cycle has been turrrrrible so far so UW is more or less my top choice at this point.
I applied 11/4 and am IR 1/21. Stats - 169/3.4/urm/out of state

Anyone who has been accepted and applied to the Gates PSL scholarship hear anything about the status of your scholarship application?

Re: U Washington 2011 Applicants
I emailed UW about a travel stipend and the existence/possibility of merit-based scholarships and haven't heard anything. Anyone heard anything about either of these two issues? I've already heard the rumor that UW doesn't give out merit-based scholarships, so that was what I was trying to clarify.

They are very tight-fisted w/r/t merit aid, that's for sure. I wouldn't say that they absolutely do not ever give out merit-based aid, but I'd say it's pretty darn rare.whitman wrote:I emailed UW about a travel stipend and the existence/possibility of merit-based scholarships and haven't heard anything. I've obviously lived under a rock until today- I didn't know about the residency 2L/3L waiver until doing some more research into COA. Wow!! UW just became a lot more reasonable in my book.

There are some stips, obviously... but it looks attainable.

Oh great. Back to stalking my mailbox as soon as I stopped. I guess the 2/15 letters were sent out yesterday.

Still in review (1/24). Since I have marginal numbers for UW, I hope this is a goodish sign that they haven't already rejected me. Perhaps there is something about me that they find somewhat attractive. I knew it was good idea to include that nude body shot.
