Just got an e-mail saying that I went complete & am ready for review. Not sure what kind of chance I have but hoping for the best.

Good luck. I wish I had ties to the west coast/pacific northwest. Schools like CU Boulder are absolutely gorgeous and I really would enjoy living there for 3 years.

Thanks, yea I heard Boulder is a beautiful place to live, anyone have any idea on how difficult it is to obtain in-state tuition in 2L or 3L?

Read upthread. It's extremely easy. Just have residence for a year and be 22 or older.

I didn't realize resident tuition was so high, only 7k lower than nonresident tuition (about 29k vs. 36k). Every bit helps, but I thought it'd be a bigger discount. I definitely won't be able to make CU happen without a scholarship.

I said the same thing. CU doesn't really have the job placement to warrant paying sticker. I don't think they really care though because they know trust fund babies will continue to choose CU for its geographical location. Unfortunately, that means you and I won't be attending withou $$.

Same. And I wasn't an auto-admit by any chance, so I doubt I'll get enough $$ to make Colorado a viable option .

Yeah, even if I get resident tuition after the first year, I'll still need at least 20k total scholarship from CU to make the total cost comparable to my scholarship offer from Wake. Which I guess isn't that bad and is something CU might be able to swing, if they really want me.

I feel really bad for you. You've been complete for a long time. It seems like Weds and Thurs are good days for getting letters, so hopefully you'll have yours before the end of the week. If not, maybe you should send them an email to make sure they've got your address correct or maybe they've alread sent it? I know it is highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

Yeah, he just came off as very abrasive and entitled. I'm curious about his questions though, so I hope they respond with something other than, "please email us directly to discuss your personal situation".

I have no qualms about posting what the fbook post says:

I'm a little confused by conflicting information I've received regarding grants and scholarships, etc. I spoke to someone in admissions recently, and explained that all things being equal I'd rather study and practice law in the West, as opposed to the East or Midwest. I've been offered very nearly a full tuition ride from IU Maurer, as well as better than 50% tuition from several other schools farther to the east, but higher-ranked than CU. So here's the rub: the admissions person told me that CU's policy is to not offer "full rides" to anyone, but the stats at US News say that 13 percent of admitted students are offered grants of full tuition, and 8% are offered grants of more than full tuition. Somebody's got to be giving false information. Hands-down I'd rather live in the West, and I'm willing to turn down offers from more prestigious schools. But, given the horrid legal job market, I can't just ignore such significant financial incentives based on a geographic preference. In the meantime, I'm still waiting for word on any financial aid from CU, which it seems will proably be smaller than what I've already been offered from other schools. Still, I'm hoping . . .
