Where are the other 2?
I'm guessing reserve can mean either waitlist or deferral.
I guess so, but that was an assumption I didn't want to make.
So I guess if it says "reserve", does it also say "reserve - waitlisted" or something? I guess I'll find out soon enough, unless mine (likely) says reject.

Well, guess I won't find out today as I doubt they're going to be looking at anything past 6 pm eastern. Oh well.

Reserve is the name for the waitlist at cornell. Im not sure why the status checker says you will get a decision of only accept, reserve or deny because many of us have gotten deferred. The deferred email says we will be put into the regular decision pool. It definitely doesnt say anything about being waitlisted.

Hm, interesting. Well, like Trustbuster said... the game continues.

Yes but it also says that they won't look at your file until February, which is about as severe as WL.

Ehh kind of. It takes a long time to go complete at cornell. Some of us have waited almost a month. If you apply early january, you probably wont be complete until feb 1st anyway. So by the time the people that applied in january are under review, you should be too.

Well...yesterday I was hoping to hear from Cornell today. Now I'm glad I didn't...
Any other 12/10 updaters who are still standing?

One more 12/10er here. I'm not sure if this goes for the rest of you, but I switched to 12/10 sometime in the afternoon - after today's deferral emails (to those who had updated to 12/10 in the morning). So maybe they turned to our files as soon as they had sent out those responses, and we are two totally different groups with different outcomes even though our dates changed on the same day.

It's possible. It's also possible that they're completely unrelated! We're going to make ourselves crazy speculating about all of this.

If you wanna let me in, why wait for me to forget about you and get excited about schools that gave a shit enough to give me an answer before march? Tisk Tisk on you.
Btw, 3.42, 174 and competitive softs. UR on the 2nd/9th/today.
Maybe pick some safety schools, to boost your confidence

Oh, I got my GULC acceptance a few days ago, so I know that I'm top 14 no matter what. It's just if it comes down to GULC or Cornell or whatever else, I know I'm the type of person who'd be leaning towards the school that I've had months upon months to get excited about, rather than the one where I felt toyed around with. Maybe it's completely irrational, but I feel the way admissions is treated might also point towards a way everything is institutionally treated.

Also updated from 12/1 or 2 --> 12/7 --> 12/10. Maybe they decided to send us to someone who reviews files and decides how big of a scholarship to offer us before notifying us we've been admitted?
Probably not what's actually happening, but I can dream.

+1 love this explanation. Every time the damn thing changes I'm convinced I'm about to know.

Love this too. However, isn't the best case scenario being asked to write an essay for the dean's scholarship? Or is there some chance that some applicants might be offered money off the bat?

Submitted 11/18, still under the "processing" status. C'est la vie. I need to be more patient, but I might call them at the end of next week to make sure I didn't screw up when I submitted the app.

Same pattern here... below the GPA median, well above the LSAT 75th.
