Re: UNC 2011 Applicants
Close but no cigar. On a positive note, if Roy recruits a couple of good 3 point shooters, our guys will be unstoppable next year. Plus, they'll probably all return to up their NBA stock which will help too.

Re: UNC 2011 Applicants
Well, that was a diffcult loss.
But I'm incredibly proud of this team and what they achieved this year: ACC Regular Season Champs and Elite 8 run. Gotta give credit to Kentucky, they played a great game, while the Heels didn't play their best.
Three-point shooting was, without a doubt, the game-changing stat. UK went 12-22 from beyond the arc, UNC 3-16.
Hopefully the Falcon, Z, and John will decide to stay another year so they can take this team back to the promised land. Time will tell...
I'm already looking forward to next season. Hopefully, a bunch of us in this thread will be able to get together and watch/attend some games as UNC 1Ls. Wouldn't that be great!?
GO HEELS!
P.S. UNC Admissions, an acceptance this week would certainly ease the pain of today's loss.

I think that heartbreaking loss yesterday could bring all three(Falcon, Z, John) back. We'll know by May 8th...scruffs mcguff wrote:disagree 100%protein wrote:Barnes has got to be leaving. Top 3 pick in the draft

Re: UNC 2011 Applicants
i've heard it from the chancellor himself that everyone is coming back. holden set HB up with an internship in DC this summer, so he has to stick around. henson is still to skinny to be a 4 in the association, and can't shoot/guard the perimeter enough to be a 3. zeller might be peaking on the court, but he's in the b school and wants to graduate.scruffs mcguff wrote:disagree 100%protein wrote:Barnes has got to be leaving. now a decision from the law school would be excellent

Re: UNC 2011 Applicants
closest knit team I've ever seen at Carolina (at least in my 10 years of knowledgeable fanhood). no way zeller is leaving. 3 time academic all american, 3.9 gpa, b school, 0% chance. plus he has little to gain.
barnes doesnt seem all that interested to me. he seems way mature beyond his years and i know he wants to do this again. plus he could be top pick with an entire year of what he did over the last ~15 games.
henson is the only that worries me, he might test the waters but i dont see it. if he makes the offensive jumps from year 1 to 2 in year 2 to 3, he could be deadly. but the NBA doesnt draft based on talent but potential (see: brandan wright, marvin williams).
overall i think a loss in the elite 8 hurts the most (well next to the championship game, but with that you accomplished SOMETHING in the final four) and i think this team loves each other and just has too much fun. if one of those two (HB, JH) comes back, the other will based on seeing what he would be leaving.

Well said, scruffs. All 3 return + Hairston, Mac, and a healthy Bullock + no major injuries = a really good chance to cut down the nets in New Orleans next April.scruffs mcguff wrote:closest knit team I've ever seen at Carolina (at least in my 10 years of knowledgeable fanhood). no way zeller is leaving. 3 time academic all american, 3.9 gpa, b school, 0% chance. plus he has little to gain.

Re: UNC 2011 Applicants
I'm not saying he is leaving or staying, but if he left, he'd be a top 5 pick. Top 3 is possible, I can't think of any players that are better than Barnes besides Kemba Walker, Derrick Williams and maybe Fredette (but he is probably going to suck in the NBA). Potential wise, however, Harrison Barnes is up there with that dude from Baylor (forget his name) for having the most raw talent.scruffs mcguff wrote:disagree 100%protein wrote:Barnes has got to be leaving. In all seriousness though, I put in my app after Christmas, and got a decision in the very beginning of Feb. And they certainly didn't pick my app because of a stellar LSAT. This is why I wonder what their system/philosophy is for picking apps for review. Do they do only in-state first? Are you in-state?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
