So can we speculate-- is tomorrow gonna be phone calls for admits only? or will we hear about WL and ding as well

I just glanced at LSN, but last year there were very, very few WLs/rejections in January. It was usually either a September applicant or someone with auto-reject numbers (I'm talking like 150s/low 160s LSAT, low GPA, non-URM). So even though they're doing things a little bit differently this year, I would speculate that we're only going to be hearing of admits the next day or two.

this is what i suspected-- so no news tomorrow is likely bad news

Well that spreadsheet makes it seem like I shouldn't hear until march, but since I went to 1/7 and updated twice, I assumed that I'd be in the admit or not admit pile tomorrow.
Maybe 1/7 doesn't necessarily mean they've made a decision??

does anyone else find it odd that their decisions last year went pretty much by order of submission EXCEPT the 10/24s and 10/25s who heard out of sequence, and a month later? i hope that doesn't happen again this year

Uh, not really. We just don't know. Decisions are going out later than usual, the batch is bigger, and some November applicants are hearing (when normally they don't hear until February.) Basically the only way we'll know if it's bad news is if it appears they're going in order of submit date and your date comes and goes and you haven't heard. For example, if lots of September applicants get the first calls, then they move into early October, then mid-October... and you submitted in September, then it's not looking good. But we won't know that until calls start going out.

We can't completely rely on last year's data because they're doing it differently, but they probably won't do rejections right away. Or at least, most schools don't tend to.

+1 I don't think people should completely start freaking unless most September people have heard if you've applied in September. But still, no one knows! And they can't call everyone tomorrow, unless they have a huge army of callers...

right, we're in agreement. what i meant was that if you submitted sept/october and you don't hear in the next week, it's likely bad news

So psyched for tomorrow! Chicago is the law school that made me want to apply to law school. Even though my chances are rather slim, and I now have several solid acceptances anyway, it would be... amazing... to hear from Chicago.

It sucks that we know nothing about the Rubenstein award process. The website literally just says that the Rubenstein exists and that it is full tuition.

So the consensus is most of us with the 1/7 UR date after several prior dates probably have a decision made? This makes me nervous, I'm waiting for LSAC to process my fall grades, which put me over Chicago's GPA median. Otherwise I am under both medians I will just cross my fingers they at least waitlist me, and decide they want to pull their 25th LSAT up to 170 with people above the GPA median and I get in off the WL!
