Just opened my admission packet, glanced at the page and noticed 18k, but alas it was their living alumni total

Scholarship info should come separate.

They did put a big $18k in my scholarship letter, promptly followed by $6,000 over 3 years, provided you maintain a 3.2 gpa.

I understand the path to GC is usually as a lateral hire from big law, but I was planning on a completing a dual degree in law/engineering and was hoping this would give me a leg up. My fascination resides somewhere at the intersection of technological innovation (aerospace, weapons systems, flight dynamics, etc.) and the legal realm. What are your thoughts? Do you recommend attending t14 without the engineering degree (financial limitations)?

I am assuming you're an undergrad engineering major, yes? Have you passed the patent bar? Realize that not many employers that come to UF's OCI have strong IP/patent departments. I don't know a lot about patent law, however, there are people here that can give you some advice regarding the process. I would recommend starting a thread stating your goals, acceptances, etc. There are a LOT of engineers on these boards, many of whom chose T14 schools over regional schools with scholarships because of the increased opportunities a degree from one of those schools (especially with an engineering background) provides. If anything, Desert Fox and Raynier are two frequent posters with engineering backgrounds that can probably answer your questions a lot more comprehensively than I can, as I have no background in engineering or the IP hiring process.

Tuition this year was 16 something and last year was in the 15's.. so no they didn't raise it 15%

I thought '10-11 was 14k and this coming year (11-12) is going to be 16k. From what's on their site/viewbook at least...

And 14k -> 16k is a 15% hike.

I was looking at an outdated page (http://www.law.ufl.edu/students/new/financial/) using '09-'10 tuition. $15k is right.

Thanks! They sent me a decision letter on 11/30 after my app was complete on 11/22 according to the online status check. I'm not sure when I got my scholarship - it was mailed to my parent's house in a different city and my dad called me about it later. I imagine it was a month ago or so but I'm not terribly sure.

I just got the same thing today, too. I guess they like doing it to us UCF folks

No decision reached is NOT exactly being held. Most of us accepted in the very first batch had this status. Don't read too much into it

UF is waiting until after valentines day to decide if they want to commit to a 3 year relationship with you. I would suggest roses a new pair of jorts a Tim Tebow Denver Broncos jersey included with your LOCI to admissions.

Ugh... I'm so nervous. Literally on LSN for UF all applicants to me left on the graph are yellow and red and all to the right are green. Nobody with same exact numbers as me that I see. Ahhhhhhhhhh

I had that too last month and then got accepted like a week or two later. It's not really even a hold. btw, my stats are 166/3.45

I'm much more worried about the hold status. My LSAT is ridiculously low. LSP had me in the "weak consider". They must have liked my personal statement and the fact I am a resident. This would be big if I pulled off an acceptance at UF or FSU.

BTW, how long should I wait before I consider sending in a LOCI? How long did it take for the first batch to have their status updated? Barbie, you said many were accepted from the "no decision yet" category, correct? That has to be good then

and "No decision reached" is just what your status changes to when they are done reviewing. At this point in the cycle, I think it could really mean anything at all (In, WL, Ding) but I wouldn't read much into it at all.

I feel really annoyed. Everyone with similar numbers to me on LSN has been accepted. I've been sitting at "no decision" for two months.
