Then SMU should be right up your alley

This is good to know! I won't be able to visit until the first ASW (the first weekend in April), but the aesthetics of a campus are semi-important to me. I just don't think I'd be able to study/live in a place that looked like I was attending law school behind the Iron Curtain or something.
You don't have to worry about that. Some of the classrooms could be newer, but they're by no means depressing. And the campus overall is gorgeous.
Yeah most of our classrooms have a good collegiate law-school feel (lots of wood). And everything on campus is in matching red brick. (literally every building is required to be) The aesthetics will only be a plus for you at Smoo.

Today, the free lunch options are Pizza Hut (Federalists Society), Chipotle (Christian Legal Society), and Olive Garden (some other group). I love SMU.

held for further review 2/10

Does anyone have their "Why SMU" essays? I want to compare mine and see whether or not I was on the right track with it. That's the only part of my application I'm worried about.

I think someone else asked and they said no. If they did, I'd certainly be down for a subsidized trip to Dallas

April 1. Also the same day that the first deposit is due, which I thought a little curious :? I thought the idea of open houses was to get an impression of the school and decide if you want to attend, and most people need more than a single day to do that.

I've been complete since 12/16 and not a peep on my app, has this happened to anyone else? Should I send an email asking if something has happened to my app?

What are smu's rules on seat deposits? Do you need to withdraw all other apps? Are you not allowed to apply to other schools after you have paid a deposit?

From what I know, you can pay as many seat deposits as you'd like -- as long as you don't mind coughing up $250-500 per. Lots of kids do this due to getting accepted at one school but still riding out a waitlist at another.

1st deposit - no one cares.

2nd deposit - if you've deposited at more than one school, you'll start getting phone calls asking whats up.

That's the only ranking that matters to me. Nowhere does it mention the amount of books in a school's library.

I am really hoping to visit SMU since they offered me such a large scholarship. The fact that they do not do travel stipends and ASW is April 1 is a bit of a burden. I hope to make it down at some point to check it out as I have never been in the state of Texas.
