Just got an email putting me on the special hold list. I applied super super late though, so no surprises there.

How late did you apply? My stats are a lot lower than yours, but I've been complete for a couple of weeks now and haven't been rejected, so I have a small glimmer of hope.kalede wrote:3.4/166

I applied on 3/15, and was complete 3/18.

Re: Cardozo 2010
Hey all,
I applied on 3/1 and got a confirmation email on 3/9. I updated my file on 3/30. 3.53/165.
Finally got the "Hold" e-mail on 4/19. Am drafting another LOCI e-mail today...not really sure what to say in it. Was hoping for a little $, but I also realize I applied late in a bad cycle. Accepted at UMB and WL at BU, still waiting to hear from others.
What to do...

got the "hold" email on Monday, just checked status checker and it says "decision rendered and sent" decision date: 4/19, which I'm pretty sure was not there until now....what's that mean??

My numbers are 165/3.5. I applied very early in the cycle. I was admitted sometime in December with a scholarship of over 70k. If I remember right, almost everyone with similar numbers was offered the same thing at that time. Brooklyn law offered me damn near a full ride.barracudasix wrote:Hey all,

If you're admitted without scholarship, I implore you to reapply next year rather than matriculate unless you are independently wealthy to the point that 70k is a drop in the bucket.
I was also admitted to Fordham with these numbers. Please consider re-applying next cycle. You can do a lot better than 'Dozo at sticker.

Re: Cardozo 2010
I absolutely agree. Cardozo Dean of admissions told me in an em ail that it is doubtful any scholly $$ will be offered me if and when I get offered admission off of the Hold I am currently on. That is a country mile of difference from being offered $50,000 - $70,000, which I expected.tesoro wrote:My numbers are 165/3.5. I applied very early in the cycle. Still pending...no longer cares. I assume they have very little $$ left to give and I would NEED a $$ to go to this school. So, I'm no longer obsessing. If I get in "that's nice," if I get in with money I will totally consider and if I dont then I'm fine too. What I do hate is this pending status though. Make up your mind already!

Personally? I'd ride that BU WL hard and start getting ready to take the LSAT again.barracudasix wrote:Hey all,

Wow, I had no idea that people who applied in March already had decisions. I applied in Jan. and have been complete since very early Feb. and still no word yet. I wonder if this is a good or bad thing?

Yes, but just a week or so ago and I went in February, so they don't seem to be in a rush to get it to you!

My numbers would indicate that I have a very low chance of getting into this school. That said, after finally being complete and under review on 3/31 or 4/1 (the status checker says 4/1, but perhaps they just updated it the day before, when they finally got the last form), I'm still in review. It's been 23 days since they supposedly started reviewing my application. I'm aware that there has been a huge increase in the number of applicants, but I applied later than most people. And like I said, my numbers don't give me a great shot, so if they wanted to reject me, they could gave done it pretty quickly, just like Villanova did. Hell, even if the processing of decisions is running a little bit behind, would it really be running so far behind that it would take an additional two weeks after a decision was made to let me know, assuming the decision was made quickly? Or maybe, just maybe, they haven't even read it yet.
[knock on wood]All things considered, I have to believe I have a shot. Based on what I said just above, what else could be the cause for delay?

Has anybody on this site succesfully negotiated with Cardozo to receive more money or any money at all through scholarships?

they told me if I submitted my competing offers they'd 'try' to get me more over the summer. they said they were all out. and then they gave more people scholarships.Jomper87 wrote:Has anybody on this site succesfully negotiated with Cardozo to receive more money or any money at all through scholarships?

Really? Well what were your numbers? Did Cardozo initially give you a scholarship? I have a competing offer from Brooklyn...

Re: Cardozo 2010
What is going on? It's been almost a month and I am still under review. Presumably, they've sent out a bunch of decisions before I even went complete, and even more after that. Even with a supposed surge in applications, if they've made a lot of decisions, and my numbers aren't that great, what could be taking so damn long? Are they really considering me or just jerking me along?
