I was optimistic about this morning considering all the admits yesterday morning. Kinda bummed today hasn't been as exciting.

FR2 checking in here - the Feb 26th estimate was just for us. I imagine the rest are still rolling as usual.Topszn wrote:Did the email state if that was FR decisions or just decisions in general?phoenix2015 wrote:I submitted in late December and went FR1 in early February. I haven't heard either, I think they make decisions pretty late. I think they start going out in April.urbanist11 wrote:Sent mine in. Don't worry though we won't be hearing for a while.wellreallynow wrote:for admits-- has anyone applied to/heard back about the matching scholarships?
And on a personal 'please share your wisdom, internet strangers' note:
I sent in my offer from Michigan (120) and just received a Mordecai yesterday from Duke. In other words, I fucked up. Think I should notify Berkeley now, wait and notify them after I've received all my other offers, notify them after I've received their matching award, or just not notify them at all? I've heard that the award you submit simply gets you into the pool of admits to be considered and they then consider you on your own merits, but I'm a bit skeptical of that and really need a large award to be able to justify choosing Berkeley over Duke now.

Can't say I'm an expert but my thoughts are 1) it does day you can submit only one offer so you did so at your own risk and 2) I think it's highly unlikely for Berkeley to match a full merit awardKiltedKicker wrote:I haven't heard either, I think they make decisions pretty late. Oh for the love of God, SEND the Duke offer! Explain that it arrived literally after you sent the initial documentation (and, yes, you did screw up by not waiting to hear about the Mordecai when you knew you were in the running, but that's beside the point and I think I just wrote that because I'd love a Mordecai) and beg them to consider your Duke offer because that's your "but for" option. But for Berkeley giving you substantial scholarship, you're going to Duke. Who knows what they will say and I'm not 100% sure that Berkeley considers Duke a true peer in the same way they consider Michigan to be, but you have to tell them.KiltedKicker wrote:I haven't heard either, I think they make decisions pretty late. Sent mine as well. I vaguely remember something like early April as being when we should expect to hear back? I know they said they would want to give us 2 weeks to consider in most cases.urbanist11 wrote:Sent mine in. Re: Berkeley C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I reached out to an admissions officer I'd spoken to at an event recently to ask her advice. She isn't the person that handles scholarships, but she is obviously closely acquainted with how it works. She told me not to worry about submitting the Mordecai because the matching scholarship just gets you into a pool of admits to be considered, and students are then considered on their own merits for an award. I have an email drafted saying basically exactly what you said above, but after the advice I received from Berkeley already I don't think sending it will help me any.fliptrip wrote:Oh for the love of God, SEND the Duke offer! Re: Berkeley C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Do any admitted students have information about the Admitted Student Weekend- specifically what time it starts on March 10th? I was admitted yesterday, but haven't received a Cal Central login to read the itinerary of the program. I would like to book my flights as soon as possible. Thanks!

I've been under review since 1/7, median for LSAT and GPA. Should I be starting to worry? Is there anything I should do, or keep attempting to deal with the torturous wait?crystallize wrote:Exact same boat as you. This is super helpful, thanks! I just got tapped for the RTK and was considering waiting to hear back from that, but going to go ahead and get mine in now!KiltedKicker wrote:I reached out to an admissions officer I'd spoken to at an event recently to ask her advice. Has anybody been under review and NOT gotten a faculty review request? I'm a bit concerned I'm an auto-reject without FR request
