Held is like pre-waitlist. Waitlist happens after May for the summer, those who have been held will be reevaluated in May or sooner to admit, deny, or WL.

Same.. Held today, but I got into UChicago weeks ago. I don't intend to respond though, I really see no point since I've gotten into higher ranked schools. Good luck to everyone else though!

Held as well. LSAT way above 75th, GPA just below 75th. Kind of annoyed, but whatever.

That's exactly the point. They're rejecting strong applicants because they think they'll just go to better schools, and everyone they admit who doesn't attend hurts their ranking. It's called yield protection. (The other option is to offer those applicants big scholarships, but at this point in the cycle those are probably gone, especially with NW's ED full scholly thing).

So there's a video interview for Hold applicants? At least they're giving us the opportunity to give them more information.

Well, Northwestern hasn't awarded any scholarships besides the ED thing (150k, but close enough to full)... Still, I'm sure in your case it's a YP. If you want to get in, I'm told a LOCI can't hurt. Good luck!

Is a hold + interview request better than a regular hold?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
