do you have to answer all of these questions?aharri79 wrote:Here goes….

if i were doing this, i would answer them in this way
1. A personal story, i wont post here
2. a. social worker in mental health services. i would imply how it is service-oriented. on law day, one of the panelists said that he would have been a butler, because they are dedicating their lives in the service of others, and wont mind solving other peoples problems. i think they are looking for whether the interviwee knows what attys do and are up for it--so i wld def address this pt
3. i have to think about this one
4. Unwillingness of DV victims to come out. i would discuss issues of psychology, emphasize how gould advocates interdisciplinary nature of the law, then how being an atty. can help
OR 4. race and police brutality. being an atty in crim defense, helping to shed biases against POC etc
thats how i wld answer if i were doing the video
fwiw i met a graduate at a reception and he got in from the WL, he had a really charming personality, i think they are also looking for a student who would fit well with other students
good luck !!

Also stuck on CR2...although I'm thinking we won't hear anything until after May 1, I keep going back and forth about whether I should contact them or send a LOCI or something?! I know they said they couldn't add anything to our files, but I'm feeling so helpless right about now!Winston1984 wrote:Still stuck on committee review 2 1/9 lol

I would be proactive about this, as in call, visit, or write them. Add'tl LOR, LOCI, let them know if you are retaking in June, if you've done interesting things from the time you submitted your app, if you didn't include something in your app, diversity stmt, etc.KGLaw18 wrote:Also stuck on CR2...although I'm thinking we won't hear anything until after May 1, I keep going back and forth about whether I should contact them or send a LOCI or something?! So if you're waitlisted, it just goes from in final review to waitlist? Dings and acceptances come after decision finalized via email?

As a non-traditional, URM applicant I pretty much poured it all into my app, so it looks like I'll be sending a LOCI. Anyone know of good tips or resources I can reference? I haven't really written one I REALLY cared about and I would like to make sure I don't shoot myself in the foot by writing something to try and show how interested I am that makes them decide NOT to accept me. I might be over analyzing things at this point, but any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!LawsRUs wrote:I would be proactive about this, as in call, visit, or write them. My bad for not clarifying. I was wondering how long it generally takes for an email to come on the same day of a DF. Wasn't sure if decisions are still released after the workday is over or not haha Thanks again, bud!LawsRUs wrote:Yup. Acceptance emails, on the same day. Fear not fellow future Trojans! Not only was this the cheesiest way to begin a post (and I do now hate myself for doing it but I've done it now so I'm committed), but I have news that can help allay some concerns!
Just called the admissions office and got two takeaways:
1) They're really tired of us calling and asking for decisions over the phone. The lady I spoke to was really nice, and she sounded quite a bit stressed about it all. They're people too y'all, and they want to help us. So yes, patience, though hard, is certainly a virtue. If nothing else, a little courtesy can definitely go a long way!
2) When I spoke to the admissions office lady, she told me that the people who received decisions by email had gotten them by special request of some sort. According to her, they had to specifically request it and then be personally approved by the Director of Admissions (I believe)? Other than that, she said any decisions that were finalized today or yesterday were likely sent out in the mail today and would arrive in several business days. But they do plan to get all decisions out by the May 1st deposit deadline.
I realize this isn't the news that some people - especially those anxious for a decision - may have wanted to hear, but it's better than nothing. If it helps at all, y'all can try to find solace in what is arguably the best line in all of literature: "After all, tomorrow is another day!"
Rest easy y'all, and good luck!

Thanks for sharing this! I haven't yet heard anything regarding people having to request acceptances by email. Can anyone who has been accepted confirm that they went through this process and how? Has anyone here only received their acceptance by postal mail and not by email first?rnoodles22 wrote:Fear not fellow future Trojans!
