Yeah hopefully they give out more soon so people can make it to ASW!leslieknope wrote:Yeah, I think so too. Unless there was a wave that somehow missed both TLS and LSN aside from that one dude, I think there should be more calls. It makes sense that they're a bit behind, tbh, considering that acceptances started late this year and that ASW is later this year, too.Oskosh wrote:I feel like they are more behind this year than they were before. I'm sure this has already been covered but I can't find it-- when is ASW?

Re: Stanford Law School c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Status checker was updated to DLS sometime in the last 3-4 hours.
25th < GPA < 50th, LSAT = 50th, complete on 12/23.
Is it safe for me to assume that this is a ding, or is it possible that I've been wait listed? How do we know?
Also (sorry if this has been asked before) does Stanford send these letters via email, or regular mail?

Sorry to hear that! The DLS without a call means it's a ding or a waitlist. It's possible that they're starting to release the waitlist, but none have been reported here yet. You'll get a letter in the mail, and you can also call the admissions office and ask for your decision at this point, if you'd like to know sooner.andreaca wrote:Status checker was updated to DLS sometime in the last 3-4 hours.

Thanks! Is calling the office something that people actually do? I'm worried that I'll just end up annoying them, but I do really want to know...

Apparently a lot of people called last year and it was fine. I think it's okay, and there's really nothing to lose. If it's a ding, then meh. If it's a WL, then great! Thank them and tell them you'll be following up!andreaca wrote:mwonka wrote:Sorry to hear that! The DLS without a call means it's a ding or a waitlist. Also, adding that I support this phone-call plan in part because I'm very curious to know if the WL is coming out for SLS, too.

I hope all of the threads start getting good news. For the most part I think blood baths are in effect.

Just thought I'd let you guys know - I just called the office (they were out until 1pm PST). I've been wait listed, so apparently they've started the WL process early this year!

Just treated myself to an "I did not get into Stanford" Nutella cupcake with bittersweet ganache
. Here's to being on step closer to a final decision and best of luck to everyone still waiting.
It's a little heart-wrenching to know that I was close to wait-list time, but I got into Berkeley and loved ASW, so no tears here.

Cupcakes are 100% TCR to being dinged by Stanford. Sorry to hear (about your ding and everyone else's too) but Berkeley's awesome, so congrats on that!jinxpoem4 wrote:Just treated myself to an "I did not get into Stanford" Nutella cupcake with bittersweet ganache. Oh god, this almost stopped my heart. Of course I just tried to call right now and they've been closed for 23 minutes. I got DLS yesterday, and if it's actually a waitlist......andreaca wrote:Just thought I'd let you guys know - I just called the office (they were out until 1pm PST). Yeah. Not going down that particular road to hell just yet. I'm rejected until I know otherwise. No hopes getting up here.

You bet your ass he deserves to be congratulated. Not only is he the (our) first confirmed waitlist; he had the courage to call the adcomm and ask about his DLS. Besides, I would prefer a waitlist to a rejection.

Hopefully the influx of calls prompts S to change to a more efficient system...such as emailing rejections/WLs with a follow-up letter in the mail.
Good luck to all!
