I was a hold/admit last year. I know of at least one other girl in my class who was as well. I did write a loci
What about WL/Reserve?
I think (although this is not verified, just from what I've heard) that there were no admits from the WL/Reserve list last year because more people enrolled than expected (about 20 or so more people are in my class than in the 2L class). That doesn't mean that will be the case this year, obviously.

cloudysky wrote:Hi everyone, I've got a bit of a conundrum. I've recently been admitted to Columbia Law. However, due to a stupid oversight on my part missing the deadline to drop a course, I find myself at risk of failing one of my courses in my last term. Even if I fail this course, I'll still have all my requirements to graduate and my other marks will be consistent with the GPA that I used to apply with. My question is do you guys think failing a course in my last term will jeopardize my admission?

Failing a class might jeopardize your admission. The advice is don't fail the class, and take it pass/fail so you don't have to worry about a C or a D either.

Rejected via snail mail. I think I went complete back on 9/24 and heard nothing from them until today.

Sorry to hear that. So they're doing random snail mail rejections now too? I don't get it.

I just checked and the status still just shows 'complete', so it really did come out of nowhere. Oh well, I just adopted a puppy, I'll be fine.

Thanks. I guess nothing has changed since some weeks back. Nearing the point of writing an LOCI.

In ~15 minutes ago with a Hamilton via email! I'm trying to act normal at work and not completely freak out!! If you want to know my exact stats, pm me please. App completed mid-late Nov (as many of you know because I've been stalking this thread a ton)! I had basically given up hope and resigned myself to be waitlisted, so I guess the lesson is don't lose hope!

I am not international, so I am assuming they're emailing since the first set of ASDs is coming up rather soon. That's just speculation though.

In via email!

Does the fact that my acceptance letter fail to mention scholarships mean I'm not getting one?

It presumably means you are not getting a Butler or Hamilton, but you can still get unnamed scholarships.

Just a quick question here, but are acceptance emails sent in at once or do they trickle?
wondering if I should be constantly checking my inbox...

What has been the average / fastest / longest turnaround time from interview to decision so far this cycle? Has anyone been keeping track?

I can't answer all of your questions, but I can say that I interviewed and got my acceptance letter less than a week later. No idea if that's actually the "fastest" though

Does it mean anything if you get an email from Columbia admissions reminding you that there are still a few days left to apply? I have an active application in my LSAC.org account that I wasn't planning on completing, but if this involves a little more than a mere automation I might submit!

Didn't even apply and my stomach fluttered when I saw it - thanks, app season :)

Longtime lurker here... I went complete on 1/16, radio silence since then, and just got the admit email today. Definitely was not expecting it so soon!

I know there is an option within LSAC to have them tell schools when you have started an app but not finished it. It makes perfect sense that Columbia would request this information and then send a reminder to every name that pops up.

Long time lurker, checking in. I went complete 1/16 and got the email with the pdf of my admittance letter today. So excited!

I know Butler and Hamiltons have been coming in with admittance and the email was only of the first admittance letter, so do we think there's still a chance for scholarships with the physical package? I'm being highly optimistic

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
