Had my regular scholarship interview this week. Was more than experience-heavy than some of the others I saw on here. PM for details.

I don't think it means anything. Duke's admissions team is putting a ton of effort into PT right now and so admissions decisions for us RD people are going to pick up after the PT deadline of Feb 15 (or presumably Feb 25th since that's when the last PT decision will be sent out). On Law School Numbers you see a lot of decisions go out end of Feb/beginning of March, probably for this reason.

Thanks. Gives us a good idea of the timeline. Must be pleasant after waiting for 3 long months. Pop open a bottle of champagne and celebrate!

Anyone know if you can solicit PT after you've submitted?

One person was able to but from what it sounded like he/she was a very unique case and had really strong numbers. It's my understanding that you usually can't solicit it.

Most people haven't had success soliciting PTs before applying, and asking after applying doubtlessly would be unsuccessful. It might also look unprepared. I'd leave your application as it is, particularly because RD decisions should be coming much faster after the next three weeks (when PTs finish).

Will leave it as is then. Just being impatient I guess.

Do PT decisions come out on the weekend? My Day 10 is going to be this Sunday.

They do! Sometimes as late as 11pm.

Today is my day 10 of PT... Does anyone have an idea of how the fact that the AdComm seems to be running this down to the last minute affects my decision?

Seems to be pretty common to get the decision on day 10, regardless of the outcome. I was accepted on day 10.

I actually saw somewhere that the chance of admissions is higher for those who waited until day 10, at least for those who have at- or above-median LSAT and GPA. Someone theorized that Duke AdComm holds onto PTer's with decent numbers until Day 10 to make sure that they compare favorably to other PTer's with decent numbers... But then, I am obviously biased as a PT admit who got her decision on day 10, lol. Moral of the story: you will be fine either way! Don't worry and enjoy this beautiful Thursday afternoon.

Most of the people I saw accepted on earlier days than day 10 were earlier in the cycle, FWIW. I think they have a bit less time now since they've started moving on RD applications and scholarships too.

And Dipper, my PT acceptance came Sunday afternoon. They work rain or shine at Duke, apparently.

I had my scholarship interview an hour ago and like most people said, it was not high pressure at all. It was very conversational and lasted about 20 minutes. Due to being out of school for ~4 years, he asked me how I concluded on law after all these years. I was also asked what aspects about Duke interest me. Lastly, my interviewer gave me the opportunity to inform the committee about anything related to my financial status that was not included in my NeedAccess application.

I had my interview yesterday and he said that they're reviewing scholarship applications in order of interviews and that I'd be getting my scholarship decision within a week or two, so you'll probably be getting it any day now.

Same, I was told a week or two from my interview.
