Hey guys,

Does anyone have any information on how the waitlist works? I was put on the regular WL yesterday which doesnt surprise me bc im below both GPA and LSAT. I was preferred waitlisted back in april two years ago when I applied and I feel like my application was way worse than it is this time around. I have a feeling that getting waitlisted this early is semi good news? I read somewehre that a lot of accepted students end up going to higher ranked schools which leaves room for WL

Thoughts?

It's a big school, and at the bottom of the T14, so there is a lot of movement off the waitlist to be expected. Hope it works for you, just hang in there!

Same here. They couldn't find one in my area so I'm waiting to do a skype interview with a DC-area alum! Come on, interview, show me some love...

When did you get an interview request? I live abroad, but there is a Georgetown campus here. I'm not sure how many law school alums may be around. I'll probably end up with a Skype interview as well.

complete 12/18
interview request 1/12 5pm EST to which I responded responded 1/13
told I'd be contacted by local alum 1/15
then about 2 hours ago, was told none could be found and I'd be contacted by a DC alum for a skype interview.
Details are beautiful :D

I just got an email setting up my interview with an alum after getting the request 1/9. I have no idea what to think. They decided we're getting BBQ, after 7:30 PM, on MLK JR Day. Includes the lines "I don't want to waste your time or mine". Sort of dig the straightforward tone. Should be interesting...

Interview request/scheduled with alum for this coming Monday. They had originally wanted to do a group interview, but there were some scheduling conflicts which led to the extension of an offer for an interview with an alum...so I guess I kind of solicited an interview? (and maybe you can too?)

Can anyone link me to info about the alumni interview. Is the invitation to interview any indication about acceptance odds?

I'm in Spokane, WA which probably means I'll be doing a skype interview.

No indication of acceptance odds really, a lot of times they request interviews from are median/ below medians (borderline candidates) I think they try to do alumni interviews in your city too, so you'll most likely have that, not a Skype.

Scroll through this thread/ last year's thread and you'll see interview experience can vary based on the alumin you're paired with. Probably not as collegial as, say, Vandy, but more informal than NW, where the interviewer is usually reading questions from a script. I think general experience for Georgetown is the inerviewer will have a few prepared questions (why law, why Gtown, why your undergrad institution, standard stuff like that), and give you plenty of time to ask questions, so the interview can turn more conversational.

How common is acceptance into the school for those at one of the two medians while being slightly below the other? LSN has a limited # of data points here, so I'm wondering about general impressions. This doesn't quite make you a "splitter" does it?

Posting this because the dean of admissions really seems to put an emphasis on a well written personal statement. I spent two months on mine and six revisions, so it may help make some sense of things for people.

I'm a part-time admit. Feel free to PM and I'll let you know whatever I can. My LSN profile is the same username, if that helps.

Does anyone know where the GULC Part Time app is - was gonna apply over the weekend but I only see 1st Year Reg Non Binding and the ED app through LSAC. Does it let you pick Full Time or Part Time after selecting 1st year Reg?

Hi all,
I'm living overseas and it can take as long as 6 weeks for me to get mail from the US. So, I was wondering if anyone has received their decision via email. Does the status check ever change from Complete once a decision has been made? Thanks for your help!

I'm living abroad as well and you'll get your acceptance by post. I received mine 3 weeks after the date it was sent. It kind of sucks but you won't get an acceptance email; you may, however, try logging on to the ASW.

Still "Complete" from 1/13. Posting this makes me feel like I'm being proactive with my application.

Anyone else been complete since late Oct/early Nov? Feels like they lost my application.

Finally scheduled my alum Skype interview. It's supposed to be pretty chill, right? So I just need to prep "why GULC?" and ask a few questions about the school? Do you think it's a good idea to ask specific Qs about the interviewer regarding his/her job, or should I stick to school-related questions? Interviews always make me nervous...
Thanks :)

I thought it was a nice touch that the Dean wrote a note on the acceptance letter referencing specific things in my application. Classy move, Georgetown! I haven't seen that in any other of my acceptances.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
