Just went to final review after CR1 2/24. Not too sure what to make of that. Talked to the dean last week and told her how USC was my first choice. she said she was going to see if they could get me a decision soon....anyone want to offer the general outcome on when this happens?

The dean of admissions at USC is completely useless. She has to wait for the faculty to basically approve every single acceptance, she can't accept anyone without their approval. Even someone who has the high stats and so on.. I think Yale does it this way as well or something close to it but Yale is Yale, they can do anything they want..USC on other hand is too slow..

Applications that are completed by February 1 receive priority review. All applicant files are reviewed administratively by the Dean of Admissions or a member of the admissions staff once they are complete. A portion of the applicant pool is admitted and denied by the Dean of Admissions based on admissions criteria set forth by the Admissions and Financial Aid Committee. A small number of files are reviewed by the Admissions and Financial Committee who make advisory admission decisions.

I feel like the dean plays a larger role than you are saying...idk. Can someone expand upon this?

My interpretation is this means the dean gets some discretion for auto-admitting or auto-dinging certain people. However, the majority have to go to a faculty review/committee.

I submitted February 1st I think, but only went complete after they received my February LSAT score on March 4th

I went complete March 4 when my February LSAT went through, probably applied shortly before the deadline.

Since USC offered a $2k bonus for placing a seat deposit by Friday, does anyone think that's the best offer it will make? Or do you think they might offer more $ as it gets down to the wire? Thanks.

Based on last year's posts, this was not offered last year. It's a new thing, pretty clever from their part..

very smart. get the people who are committed to actually commit and get a sense of how many more admits to issue based on the response...unfortunately USC took to long. My deposit is due at a T10 By next Friday so I will be withdrawing unless I hear back by this weekend.

Have you considered telling them that? Might be too late at this point, but I spoke with admissions about pressure from other schools to deposit, etc. and received a response and scholarship pretty shortly after.

Yeah that might work especially if you tell them you will go after they offer you a near full ride of course.

The wait, so fun I don't know what to do with myself. Can someone catch me up on USC admission trends this cycle? Favoring lsat or GPA, welcoming splitters, that sort of thing. Thanks

I'm an extreme reverse splitter - 161/3.75 lsdas gpa, 3.899 real gpa and I got in with good money after a nearly 5 month wait, so I'd say my GPA was probably the main reason I got in. I can't speak to any overall trends though
