Accepted yesterday by mail, really excited as NYU Law is one of my top two choices and I didn't expect to hear so early.
PM for stats. Applied at start of November.

Applied 11/10
Under Review 11/14
Decision Letter Sent 12/2
I was studying abroad in New Zealand before, and that is the address on the status checker page. However, I have since left that residence. The current status date is 12/2, so I'm wondering whether or not it would be there by now anyway? I know they only give decision by snail mail, but if I called and explained would they release that info or just resend it somewhere else?

To all of the waiters, good luck! I got my decision letter on Friday and it was such an amazing feeling.

Pardon the ignorance, but I don't see the app at NYU listing any kind of optional essays, other than saying feel free to submit additional material etc. Do they look favorably upon any kind of extra essay, such as a why NYU? Thanks.

Does that status check update more than once per day? (ie - did those of you who DLSed last week, did that change happen in the early am or at some random point in the day?)

My DLS happened around 9:30 a.m., but I remember people getting them later that morning. I think a good timeframe for everything is:$alty wrote:Does that status check update more than once per day? 9:00 a.m. to Noon - DLS status appears
4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Accepted students site becomes accessible
Calls can happen any time from a couple hours after DLS to a few days. I went DLS on 12/3 and got my call before some of the 12/2 DLS people, so don't worry about the call. As long as you can get into the ASW within 24 hours of your DLS notification, you're in.

great rundown, thanks. This may be something that's worth having on the OP. Thoughts?jingosaur wrote:My DLS happened around 9:30 a.m., but I remember people getting them later that morning. For people who have been accepted, what's the typical turnaround from UR2 -> DLS?

Re: NYU c/o 2017 Applicants Thread!
UR2 is kind of a flame. A lot of people got accepted with no UR2. The only reason why I got one (I think) was because I forgot to attach my C&F and the date updated when they added that to my application. If you are 3.6+/172+, it should be a less than a month turnaround and in January it's more like 1-2 weeks. Splitters and people with 170 on down may have to wait a couple months. This is what happened last year:midwest17 wrote:For people who have been accepted, what's the typical turnaround from UR2 -> DLS?

I don't see how it could be a bad thing, but it sounds basically meaningless.0913djp wrote:Same here. So no consensus on whether or not this is a good thing?waddle wrote:UR2 today also.
