Does UCLA consider WUSTL a peer for negotiations?

I have been patiently waiting for my UCLA rejection.... Has anyone who submitted early jan heard back about being rejected yet?

Really surprised you got rejected given your other acceptances. Sorry to hear.

Sorry about the rejection, at least that helps me know I will hear from them soon. My submit date is about the same.

I received my financial aid award via e-mail today. A whopping $1000 per year! Not very generous but this is the downside of having a successful spouse (nohumblebrag). Plus my numbers aren't that great for UCLA so you take what you can.

Did anyone else receive their E-Pal letter and have a small heart attack at the ~$70K cost of attendance? Or was I the only one who thought the 2011-12 number of ~$48K for in-state tuition and fees listed on their website included living expenses?

Probably, I was use 3+/_ on the rankings. Couple of TLSers I got some increase but they had aid from Mich, Duke, ect. If you have some aid from the T14 will bode better for you even if the aid is smaller than what you want from UCLA. I would just lay out your options and let the cards fall where they may.

I was able to negotiate up my scholarship using WUSTL and a couple of other offers.

Haven't heard from UCLA since I went "complete" back in January. Pretty sure that it's all but over for me.

Got the same scholarship from Northwestern that UCLA gave me. makes me feel like maybe UCLA lowballed on merit. I don't know what they would say if I presented them with the same numbers from a much higher school tho, its not technically a "higher" offer

hmm. okay thank you. Now, how to go about doing this tactfully.. I'm from socal, and if staying in the area turns out to be my cheapest option I just might take it
