Doesn't sound like something I would do but glad to know what it means now.

Hey my online status checker today says "in review" this is a change from whatever it said from 2/28 until today 4/6. How long has it taken others to receive a decision after the change to "in review"? Thanks in advance.

6 days but I think that's because I called them everyday to bother them.
Got a scholarship increase today. Have to be honest, these people are good at making things happen.

For those that got updated scholarship awards, did they email you a revised offer letter or snail mail?

I was emailed after a brief back-and-forth negotiation. Their response speed was impressive.

Did they mail you an official signed letter with the revised offer or was it just the email?irishvt14 wrote:I got an email as well after I sent one to them. And I agree with above poster...the speed was impressive.

I just got the email yesterday and it said a revised letter would be in the mail, but obviously I have not received it yet.

Thanks. I also got an increased scholarship and I just want to wait to get the official letter in the mail before depositing. They were very quick in getting back to me.irishvt14 wrote:I just got the email yesterday and it said a revised letter would be in the mail, but obviously I have not received it yet.

edit- the TLS c/o page, at least.

I'd say a little before August 1st, but I may be a little overzealous.kk19131 wrote:When's a good time to sign a lease?

Re: Villanova 2011
The undergrads sign leases 6 months to a year (sometimes over a year) in advance. I highly suggest not waiting til august unless you dont care where you live. Like the house I live in now I found on really late craigslist and signed the lease february for a June move-in... it was like unheard of to wait that late in the game.... the towns around here have student housing restrictions, I heard from a law student that they apply to law students as well, but most landlords ive dealt with are willing to rent to grad students (dispite the silly laws). All the student restrictions make it really hard to get housing in Bryn Mawr (the farther towns don't enforce the restrictions as much because a lot less students live outside of Bryn Mawr) soooo just a tip, if you want to find a house there start looking soon!bryceman32965 wrote:I'd say a little before August 1st, but I may be a little overzealous.kk19131 wrote:When's a good time to sign a lease?

are you sure about that? i had no problem finding housing as a grad student. i never heard of any restrictions on grad students around here, either.sdubs wrote:The undergrads sign leases 6 months to a year (sometimes over a year) in advance.
