Yeah, I live right by Longview, which has an indoor driving range. I'm headed there tonight if I get off work before 9, or tomorrow if I can't go to the course.
I effing hate driving ranges though. I'm too ADD.

I would if I were around. Still a few unanswered questions though.. what's the plan for pre-orientation pre-gaming?chrisbru wrote:Kara and I are drinking on a rooftop patio. Come on Hawkeyes, get on our level!

Re: IOWA 2011
I was admitted of the WL with scholarship mid May. I did drive out to IC from New Jersey for a face-to-face take with Dean Byrd, so I was adamant about getting something.Has anyone heard about/experienced any waitlist movement?
As for all of this talk of pre-orientation pre-gaming, I will be moving into my place the first couple of days of August so I will also extend the common "free beer for move-in assistance" offer. After I get settled I want to do nothing else but crack beers without regard for the time of day. Speaking of all-day inebriation, anyone going to Lollapalooza?
Cheers from Hong Kong.

Re: IOWA 2011
Lollapalooza would be awesome this year, but I've got to be elsewhere that weekend.
I have a friend from Seattle in town the whole week of August 1st. We plan on drinking pretty much straight through that week.
Then, the week after, she'll be gone... But I plan on doing the same thing again.

Real Beer: Mac and Jack's African Amber, or Full Sail Double Porter
Non-beer: Jameson or Macallan 18 yr.

What is the university policy on alcohol on school grounds? Any chance we can use the student bar funds for a weekly Friday keg like CU law does in their commons area?

You sure about this? We can tailgate in the law parking lot... We could just do an outdoor kegger?smiller1 wrote:Naw, it's a dry campus. I wish.

Clearly this needs to be explored further or we could use the student bar assoc. funds to host a kegger every Friday night as a certain location off campus I'm assuming.chrisbru wrote:You sure about this? It's DEFINITELY a dry campus, though perhaps grad schools can curb the rules a bit? Wouldn't that be nice?

Just bought my living/dining room furniture, I'm stoked. Now I just need outdoor stuff. And a mangrill.

I'm curious what a "mangrill" entails...or more accurately, what would qualify as its antonym -- a ladygrill?I'm stoked. Now I just need outdoor stuff. And a mangrill.

A ladygrill is just a stove and an oven. Duh.

Congrats. Are you going to attend our weekly bar crawl in the fall?... err i mean Iowa Law?TurkeyDay wrote:In off the waitlist via snail mail today! A nice surprise while visiting home
On a different note, does anyone have any experience with RocketMatter, Clio, or HoudiniESQ, I'm supposed to make a recommendation next week and I didn't know if anyone has had any experiences with those SaaS/CRM programs.
I know Lawyerist and LPP recommend RM but Technolawyer recommends Houdini, though I am pretty certain that Clio is the leader of the three in terms of firms who subscribe. I am currently using a data base running on a 1994 version of Q&A (fml).
