Go to Minnesota for sure.... more employment opportunities in different cities throughout the Mid-West. At UNC you are most likely confined to the Carolina's... unless you want that.

And weather isn't everything.... I'm moving from freakin LA to Iowa City. NOT ideal... but it's the best and right school for me out of the ones I was admitted to.

Got my initial decision a couple weeks ago....waitlisted. And now got my WL email update....released/denied. LOL.

I don't know even why the bothered waitlisting me at all... by the time they got to my file all the seat deposits were in and they knew they didn't have room. Minnesota = major fail.

Yea I know  And I'm really not sure. I'm kinda irked because I'm all set to attend elsewhere but Minnesota has been my top choice for a while but after no decision in May I kind of forgot about it. At this point I haven't even visited because I figured why bother, they waited til the end of June to even give me an initial decision anyway and now I have a week to decide. Gr.

Still on the fence, but going to decide in the next couple of days for sure. Minnesota is giving me more money but I was so mentally prepared to go out East. And I have virtually zero connections to the state. But it's such a good school, and such a good deal! Argh.

Dear Quadsix,

Thank you again for your interest in the University of Minnesota Law School. As an applicant currently on our waitlist, we understand that you have likely made alternative plans for the fall. If that is the case and you do not wish to remain on the waitlist, please let us know and we will update your file accordingly. If you do wish to remain on the waitlist, no further action is required from you at this time.

We have begun the waitlist evaluation process and we appreciate your patience as we select waitlisted applicants if additional seats become available. You are a member of an exceptionally strong applicant pool, which can make this process slower than ideal. The attached list of frequently asked questions will hopefully answer some your questions as the summer progresses, but please note that in past years applicants have been selected from our waitlist up to the first day of classes in the fall. Thank you again for your continued patience.

Apparently I'm still on the WL, since I got the email today as well. I called and they said they must have snet me a denial email by accident.

Go figure :|

For those on the WL, what're you doing about other schools? How long will you wait on MN?

It'll be easy if you're currently deposited elsewhere in the TC but is anyone else sweating out being deposited at a school further away while waiting on MN?

Nope. Momentary chaos is a small price to pay for acceptance to your dream school. Also, I have many friends in Minneapolis who would be willing to temporarily "house" me :)

I requested an extension on the deposit deadline  I've put down quite a bit of money in Boston in addition to the seat deposit and I've been having a hell of a time trying to find out if I'd be able to get any of it back from across the country. Losing out on a couple thousand bucks would suuuuck so I wanna know before I make the decision. Plus BC may be reconsidering my scholarship amount in light of MN's offer, which would be fantastic, so we shall see...But the second I know TLS will know lol

Yup I fiiiinally had to choose lol. UMN was super tempting and the admissions people were really nice, but I'm off to Boston so I hope my spot and the money goes to someone here!

PS scholly negotiation this late in the game works- BC met UMN's offer so if anyone gets off a late waitlist with money, you've got nothing to lose by mentioning it to other schools.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
