+1. Plenty of "CA or bust" folks out there. My theory why Berkeley's BL+FC placement lags every T14 besides GULC is partly because lots of people would rather take any job in CA vs. biglaw in an easier market like NYC.

Is there a consensus on how Berkeley views materials sent after going under review and pre-decision? I am really regretting not sending an LSAT addendum and an optional essay.

It's partly self selection as well. Berkeley has a big push for PI. Also attracts a lot of PI people due to it being Berk.

The say on their website "On February 15 and March 20, three types of notifications will be transmitted: Scholarship Only, Scholarship + Grant, or Grant Only."

What is the difference between scholarship and grant? Scholarship is merit based and grant is need based? But these are both free money and do not need to be repaid, correct?

It sucks those who don't make it into the first wave of scholly offers (2/15) have to wait more than a month to hear in the second wave (3/20) :/

Also I just submitted FAFSA and CSS to them this weekend so I hope that's okay.

UCLA does manage to have a higher LSAT median though, which is rather interesting.

Berkeley explicitly takes some people with lower LSATs because they think they're "interesting." They know it matters to rankings but they take an intentional hit anyway... if you look at the class there are some people who have REALLY LOW LSATS and might have ONLY gotten into Berkeley out of 10/12 applications, but are also often the people who go on and do crazy things, or have amazing work experience where they were working 100 hrs/ week when they took the lsat. berkeley could forgo those people and raise its LSAT median pretty easily, but choose not to bc of their "class creation" goals
