Does wait list mean that we were all 11s?

Figured I'd be sitting at an 8 or 9 so I'm pretty thrilled with the WL

Mostly talking about myself. If I'm an 11 then the bar isn't as high as I thought

Also waitlisted, 8:30 PM. Complete October 10th.

For those still waiting, the email says that they usually accept about 10 applicants per year (0~20) from a pool of approximately 100 applicants, with the list active until August 24th (registration day).

Personally intending to ride it out til the end.

Just checked my email super drunk from Passover and found a nice WL. So happy to finally have something.

I am almost scared to ask buuuut, is there any chance for an acceptance?

WL yesterday also. With only a ~100 person pool I will likely ride it out to the bitter end.

This is exactly how I feel, though I'd be stunned if I even got a 10. (Also a WL.)

seriously though if you're already in at H then do a fellow TLSer a favor and get tf off this waitlist...

...although if a Harvard commit reneges and takes Yale off the waitlist, maybe I can snag that person's spot at H...

To give a bit of (possibly irrational) hope to those on the waitlist - the Facebook group was up to 280 about a week ago and has slowly crept down to 275 since then. Seems like a couple of people are declining their offers already. Don't want to read too much into this but can't be a bad sign so figured it was worth posting?

Seems like the Facebook group has more people than it usually does, based on previous years' threads. I hope this doesn't mean that they end up barely using the waitlist, if at all.

Got the WL message last night! Glad to be finished. I'm not sure whether I will ride the WL, but if I do, it will only be until early May when any deposit-deadline action would be likely to happen. Honestly this Yale Mary stuff is starting to feel like a gambling addiction more than anything else.

Got the ding yesterday afternoon. Pretty bummed, despite low numbers I was hoping strong softs would at least get me on to the WL. Good luck everyone!

cw: baseless speculation

Given that they hold 10x more than they admit on a given year, my guess is that they hold a person's application with the idea of replacing admitted students with similar numbers, professional interests, background, and/or professional goals. But, as should be abundantly clear from my previous posts here and in other threads, I really don't know what I'm talking about

 I love this blushing emoji so, so much

No, but I don't think we need one, since regular decisions are just about done now.

Is anyone else paranoid that by stating that you'll ride the WL to the end on the WL form, this will hurt your chances of being offered admission in May/June?
