Re: NYU c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
Has anyone been stuck at UR2 for a while? I have seen a lot of people saying UR2-->DLS takes only a couple weeks, but I have been UR2 since 12/16.
I don't expect to be admitted, but are they just going to string this along until March or April?

Edit: To add to that, I think what someone mentioned a few pages back was spot on- we're probably being held until they get a better sense of the applicant pool to decide whether or not to waitlist or reject/admit (I'm leaning towards tentative waitlist since none of these have been released yet)

Anyone else UR (i think) 2 since 12/28? LSAT = 75th, GPA well above 75th.

At what point do you know you're out the running for a named scholarship? Early March?
They wouldn't wait to admit you while they decide if you'll be invited to interview for one, right?

You definitely have to be in before you're considered for the scholarships.
I think you shouldn't worry until you hear of people being invited to interview for named scholarships.

Application submitted yesterday 2/2/15, already under review on 2/3... why do I feel like this is abnormally quick?

NYU's website says that it doesn't take into account february lsats. Does anyone know if this is outdated like some of the info about averaging LSAT scores on the websites of other schools? Or is it presently NYU's policy to ignore February scores?

+1. A lot of schools seem to be holding out and getting a sense of the pool.Ris19 wrote:Anyone still stuck at UR(1) 12/15?

Not certain about NYU specifically, but if you are re-taking in February in hopes of getting a higher score, I've read some schools will make an exception and hold onto your app until scores are released if you request it.hopeboaltberkeley wrote:NYU's website says that it doesn't take into account february lsats. They actually asked me to write them an email specifically asking them not to consider my February score, so I'm guessing they'll allow the reverse.hopeboaltberkeley wrote:NYU's website says that it doesn't take into account february lsats. That's interesting. Did you inquire about it, or did they contact you to ask whether you wanted your app held? I registered for February, did not contact NYU, and am currently showing as UR.usn26 wrote:They actually asked me to write them an email specifically asking them not to consider my February score, so I'm guessing they'll allow the reverse.hopeboaltberkeley wrote:NYU's website says that it doesn't take into account february lsats. Re: NYU c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
I called them, since I was stuck at 12/5, and thought the Feb LSAT might be the reason. In my case I applied in November and registered for the LSAT after I went complete, but they told me I should email them anyway.nosocat wrote:That's interesting. Re: NYU c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
It's really hard for me to decide whether to ask them to wait on Feb scores. I'm in the same situation as Berkeley. On the cusp, score-wise, but don't want the delay in processing to lower my odds. So I'm just doing nothing, I think, and assuming they're holding because of no movement.

For me it was likely that I would get accepted/WL with my current score (according to mylsn.com) so I just wanted them to evaluate ASAP. So I sent them an email asking them to do that. I'm using the Feb LSAT as a motivator to get bumped off of waitlists and those schools.
But for schools where my current LSAT score is not competitive (like I'm not even likely to be waitlisted there- U of Chicago, Columbia) I didn't send any email and am just letting them decide to do whatever they want when they see that I am registered for Feb.

Re: NYU c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
That makes sense. My LSN is a little off for me because I'm non-traditional and I have no idea how that is affecting my acceptances. I was a reject at Michigan per mylsn but got in, e.g. Anyway, your words have calmed me and make me think I'm not making a dumb moveticklemesilly wrote:lokikoala wrote:It's really hard for me to decide whether to ask them to wait on Feb scores. Glad my words had a positive impact. I'm a splitter (not non-traditional, but splitters have very unpredictable cycles too) so I feel like we are in somewhat of the same boat. I'm guessing for us unusual applicants a lot of schools will want to reserve judgement and will be happy to have the option of using the Feb LSAT as an additional criteria in their evaluations. I am betting that if they genuinely like us but are still unsure, they'll take their own initiative to wait for the Feb scores before releasing their decisions (basically I doubt they'll deny us if we are borderline candidates and they see that we are registered for the Feb test- they'll want to give us a chance).
Congrats by the way on Michigan! Great school.
