Obviously 1,000,000 congratulations to those who have been accepted. It is an awesome school

Lol! I have to agree with this even if I'm being bitter.anubis1911 wrote:waitlisted at Chicago. It's a real shame since I was actually starting to think that attending UChicago was worth living in the hell that is Chicago.

Thanks. Any idea how much of a difference it makes? Do they admit a fair amount people off the waitlist? Do they wait until summer to do so?Lavitz wrote:Yes.lawschool22 wrote:Do they always solicit a "Why Chicago" so explicitly in the WL email?

Sorry to the WLers
For those of us on our phone's who find it hard to track this data, what's the most recent interview date to receive a decision?
Thanks for your thoughts and the data!Lavitz wrote:Anecdotally, I can tell you that I wrote one and never got off the WL.lawschool22 wrote:Thanks. Any idea how much of a difference it makes? When and how many they admit off the WL depends on their yield. Last year was strange in that I believe they had a higher yield than expected, and yet admitted people off the WL anyway, threw money at a few of them, and ended up overshooting their original target class size. Don't think they admitted as many people as the year before though.
LSN shows 22 WL--Accepts in 2011-12, but only 5 WL--Accepts last cycle: 2 in late March, one in June, one in July, one with no date.

The office is already closed, so I'm planning on calling tomorrow. How did everyone get notified for their interview, and should I be freaking out? DDD:
Heads up, the WL-Accepts last year were a bit later than that (first wave in June, then another wave a few weeks later). I think it's because the LSN dates (least a few of them) are when the initial waitlists actually occurred.Lavitz wrote:Anecdotally, I can tell you that I wrote one and never got off the WL.lawschool22 wrote: Thanks. Hmm...not sure if I want to ride it out until June. I might just take NYU at that point and be done with it, since I doubt I'll get money at Uchi anywayhohenheim wrote:Heads up, the WL-Accepts last year were a bit later than that (first wave in June, then another wave a few weeks later). Congrats to the admits - UChi is an awesome place to study law (and get a job), so I hope to see you all at ASW.
Good luck to those now riding the WL. Remember not to ragequit withdraw (unless you're sure you wouldn't come), write the LOCI they request, and show interest. WL admissions happen!
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
