In a strange strange way this WL feels good. Well, not "good" but provides a bit of tranquility as I start to picture where I might be in a few months. I was never really sold on living in Hyde Park, and while I might have chosen it over a lot of other schools, in some ways this makes the decision clearer for me, and that is comforting.

Lol! I have to agree with this even if I'm being bitter.anubis1911 wrote:waitlisted at Chicago. It's a real shame since I was actually starting to think that attending UChicago was worth living in the hell that is Chicago.
Also I thought my interview went well but I guess it wasn't enough to compensate for my numbers
Very excited for the people who got in today!!

IN!!!!!!
Absolutely shocked. LSAT 25-50, GPA 75+
Interviewed last month. It lasted about 12 minutes-felt to the point- so don't despair if it doesn't last as long as some other people.
Amazing end to this cycle for me
PM for details/questions on interview

For those who have been waitlisted or accepted, don't forget to add in the "initial decision date" after changing your status in the spreadsheet

Thanks. Any idea how much of a difference it makes? Do they admit a fair amount people off the waitlist? Do they wait until summer to do so?Lavitz wrote:Yes.lawschool22 wrote:Do they always solicit a "Why Chicago" so explicitly in the WL email?

For those of us on our phone's who find it hard to track this data, what's the most recent interview date to receive a decision?

Re: Chicago c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
Congratulations all of you. Please PM me any questions if you have them or post in the Ask a Law Student forum. I am very adamant that U Chicago is the right choice for many if not most people who have it as an option, but also have no interest in anyone being here who wouldn't be happy so I will give you the most candid of advice (from an admittedly pro UChi personal view).
To those of you who were WL'd, I was in your shoes 2 years ago, got in and matriculated and have no regrets. Don't give up hope.

When and how many they admit off the WL depends on their yield. Last year was strange in that I believe they had a higher yield than expected, and yet admitted people off the WL anyway, threw money at a few of them, and ended up overshooting their original target class size. Don't think they admitted as many people as the year before though.
LSN shows 22 WL--Accepts in 2011-12, but only 5 WL--Accepts last cycle: 2 in late March, one in June, one in July, one with no date.

I just saw on my status checker that I'm invited for an interview, but I never received any calls or emails! The status checker was apparently updated on 1/13, and I hadn't checked it in awhile :/
The office is already closed, so I'm planning on calling tomorrow. How did everyone get notified for their interview, and should I be freaking out? DDD:

Heads up, the WL-Accepts last year were a bit later than that (first wave in June, then another wave a few weeks later). I think it's because the LSN dates (least a few of them) are when the initial waitlists actually occurred.Lavitz wrote:Anecdotally, I can tell you that I wrote one and never got off the WL.lawschool22 wrote: Thanks. Congrats to the admits - UChi is an awesome place to study law (and get a job), so I hope to see you all at ASW.
Good luck to those now riding the WL. Remember not to ragequit withdraw (unless you're sure you wouldn't come), write the LOCI they request, and show interest. WL admissions happen!

Re: Chicago c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
Hmm...not sure if I want to ride it out until June. I might just take NYU at that point and be done with it, since I doubt I'll get money at Uchi anywayhohenheim wrote:Heads up, the WL-Accepts last year were a bit later than that (first wave in June, then another wave a few weeks later).
