Umm, there was a mock class with a very engaging Employment discrimination professor, then they had three alums who were extremely charismatic walk us through some of what they do, there was a student panel where you could ask students where to go party, and then there was an awesome reception where you could meet current professors, students, alums, and administrators in the commons, complete with open bar, hors d'oeuvres, and pianist. Needless to say, I feel like I currently know more about the VLS professors than I do about ANY of my undergrad professors.emm wrote:i wasn't able to make the asd yesterday. if anyone could tell me what happened/how you felt/what you learned i would really appreciate it!
Overall, everyone was extremely engaging, positive and forthcoming, and I really couldn't envision it going much better, barring, say, having "the Roots" perform or something crazy like that. I'll probably be sending in a seat deposit early this week.

The reception was very compelling in my opinion. The professors/alumni were very engaging (I didn't even have to go up to anyone) they practically approached you...they were all very helpful/enthusiastic about Villanova, it's going to make my decision really hard at this point.

Just sent in my deposit - woohoo! I couldn't make ASD and am wondering if there was any mention of housing/roommate matching services. Some of the other schools I was accepted to already have Facebook pages set up where students can start looking for roommates. I know it's a little early, but I'd like to get the hell out of Montana as soon as possible.

Yeah, there was a section in the book they gave us. If you look around the website there is a list of apartments that they recommend for law students, along with someone who to email if you want to be put on a list of students looking for roommates. General recommendations I got were Radnor house, radcliff house, and Rosemont Plaza. Feel free to PM if you want more specific recommendations/details that I got over the weekend.angelkiss3148 wrote:Just sent in my deposit - woohoo! I'm trying to grab a spot in Radnor. I need a studious roommate who keeps a clean place and isn't annoying. Any takers??

Popping in to recommend Radwyn Apartments as well....several of us 1Ls and 2L/3Ls live here also. Lots of acreage and 2 miles from the LS.

Re: Villanova 2011
Thanks guys! I'd love to get a place in Radnor/Rosemont, ideally around the beginning of July and preferably with someone (guy or girl, doesn't matter) who's neat and studies hard during the week but likes to be social on the weekends. If anyone else is looking for a roommate please feel free to PM me.

If you don't mind a 20 min commute, Roxborough and Manayunk are fun and got some decently priced places.

Suggestion: live in Havertown if you're trying to save money(like 300-500/month), its only a 5-10 minute drive to Nova, and make friends with Radnor House kids so you can crash there after the bar.

Seems like most 1Ls live closer to Nova, but a few do live out in Manayunk, more 2Ls and 3Ls overall though I'd say.nillumin wrote:jlnoa0915 wrote:If you don't mind a 20 min commute, Roxborough and Manayunk are fun and got some decently priced places.

Re: Villanova 2011
Hey i go to villanova undergrad and live/work around here all year round. If anyone wants the low down of where to live PM me. Radnor House is a big ugly high rise, basically the only one around, and its overpriced.... but the area is sooo nice and they're so many cute duplexes. Bryn Mawr, Wayne, and Ardmore are really cute towns, Bryn Mawr bars are mostly the undergrad scene but I meet law students at those bars constantly. A lot of young professionals live in Conshohocken or Manayunk... both of which are farther from campus but those are good places to live if you want a mix with younger professionals working in Philly.
But if anyone had questions about any streets, towns, and what not let me know. I found my house on craiglists and i loveee it and its super super cheap and about a mile from campus and a block from the Main Line strip.

If you don't mind a bit of a commute and want to live in philly, I highly recommend Northern liberties.

Just whatever you do don't live at the Courts which is also known as college hall. it is advertised on craiglist alot and thats where all the undergrads party all night every night so youll never sleep. Home Props is also all over craigslist, that is really really nice, a little more expensive but theyre nice and quiet with tons of parking and great location.

I asked someone at admitted students day....you email admissions and they'll forward it to the scholarship committee....include info on other offers you had in the email....irishvt14 wrote:who do I email about scholarship negotiation?

Maybe this is super undergraddy, but does anybody know if/when there will be a class "facespace" group going up? I was just curious, as it made roommate finding super easy for undergrad.

We don't even have a TLS c/o 2014 page yet.langdonbadger wrote:Maybe this is super undergraddy, but does anybody know if/when there will be a class "facespace" group going up? I was just curious, as it made roommate finding super easy for undergrad.

Eh, I feel like this has turned into that. But most of the people I met at ASD hadn't even heard of TLS, hence the question.
