I guess...but I've gotten in at WUSTL, W&L and Denver w/ the same app...CanadianWolf wrote:With your numbers, my best guess is that your application doesn't read well.
I do have a few black marks (dropped out one semester, failed another semester), but they were at the beginning of my UG and I made straight As the last 5 semesters of UG. Played it safe on my PS and got great LOR, so I donno.

Re: Minnesota 2011
I hate to say it but there might be something to that. I got in ~1 month after application with decidedly lower numbers(think median lsat, below 25% gpa), saw OP's stats and thought something along these lines.CanadianWolf wrote:With your numbers, my best guess is that your application doesn't read well.

Re: Minnesota 2011
if my app was really that sketchy or offensive, wouldn't they just ding me straight up? I understand the WL from UT could be pure numbers, and the one from Hastings could be splitter prejudice or YP, but this UMN one is really confusing me as I know they like splitters.

Re: Minnesota 2011
Who knows. It makes no sense that I would get into UMN while numerous low T1/high T2 schools hold my application. Or that IU gives me a 120k and my local TTT gives me 0.

WL here via email today. That's okay, I guess I'll just go to the T14 I got into (using sarcasm to highlight the bizarre nature of law school admissions).

Re: Minnesota 2011
Hi all. Please do not refer me to the other 50 pages of the thread. Give me a quick explanation of the process at UMN. I keep reading about all these "In review, 1,2,3". I have an IR date of 2/11. This is the only IR date i have. What is to be expected. Accept, another IR date, or a reject? Is this pretty much the way it goes and you have three possible IR's to get in? Thanks all.

169/3.32. Certainly not auto-admit, but I thought I would more than likely get in.chrisbru wrote:What are your numbers? Are you over 170?crit_racer wrote:WL via e-mail. FUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Re: Minnesota 2011
I just got the WL email myself. With my numbers (162, 3.67) I actually feel lucky to have gotten this far.
At the very least, it's nice to be finally hearing back from schools now.

Just received the waitlist email. Any one have information on the likelihood of them accepting waitlisted applicants?

I don't think anyone really knows. My advice, if Minnesota is one of your top choices, send in a LOCI stating how likely you are to go there and why you want to.columbia86 wrote:Just received the waitlist email. Any one have information on the likelihood of them accepting waitlisted applicants?

This is surprising... I'd have put you as an auto-admit.

I'm just happy they're still ostensibly still mulling over my app.wintersm05 wrote:I'm going crazy!jacketman03 wrote:Me.wintersm05 wrote:I've been under review since 12/23. Anybody else been waiting this long?

Now are these your first IR dates? Its seems that some people get IR'd more than once?wintersm05 wrote:I'm going crazy!jacketman03 wrote:Me.wintersm05 wrote:I've been under review since 12/23. Anybody else been waiting this long?

Anybody?salvage wrote:So I was denied admission, after lingering under review for a while. My stats were below both medians so I'm not surprised, although I made it clear that UMN was my first choice by far. Anyway, I'm curious to know if the following would be completely tactless - I would like to email the admissions office to inquire as to what exactly made my application not an immediate auto-ding. In other words, could they speak to anything specific in my application that they liked. Is sending this email uncouth? The way I feel, I paid $75 for the privilege of them reviewing my file, the least they could do is give me some insight.

If you're curious go ahead and send it. At this point it can't really hurt you.salvage wrote:Anybody?salvage wrote:So I was denied admission, after lingering under review for a while.
