Oh my Lord it looks like I've missed a conversation on one of my favorite topics.
I'm also excited to drink with my fellow Spartan

Love it.
Right now I am between Berk and NYU but we will see how things roll out with UPenn and Chicago.
Right now I am leaning Berkeley!

Yeah, I know.
ETA: Every time I visit this thread and see that pic, I get happy.
The NYU thread has Lolcats... the Berkeley thread has alcohol! I'll see what I can do about posting a Pina Colada picture later. I'll also take requests - I'm always willing to take one for Team Berkeley.
Edit: I posted this before I saw the conversation about NYU vs Berkeley. Now you have more fodder for a decision.

Dear Berkeley,
You are breaking my heart one day at a time. Every day that goes by without a text, email, or call, makes me think our relationship is crumbling. Please talk to me soon before I lose hope on us. I don't mean to be dramatic, but if I don't hear from you soon, I might have to sooth my broken heart with chick-flicks and ice cream in a dark room. Don't let me fall to this point. Thanks.
Your true love,
Daisy

Do you guys know what dictates whether you get an acceptance phone call versus email? Is there some sort of prioritization or is it just a function of how busy the Dean is etc...?

They said on the phone that they are calling the early admits to let us know early instead of having us wait for the postal mail. Once they get into the swing of things I suppose they don't have to call anymore. That's my understanding.

Today, I called the admissions office with the same question. I was told one's application being sent to committee review happens through March. The timing of one's submission is not a factor, since outside of auto admits the readers evaluate comparatively as they read additional completed applications. Hope that helps

Just got an email reminding me to apply for financial aid as early as possible, and not to wait until a decision has been made. Scared the crap out of me at first when I saw it was from Berkeley.

On days like this I wonder if there are a bunch of people being accepted who aren't constant posters or lurkers (hi) on this forum.

Just got an E-mail at 7:22 EST about applying for financial aid. Almost cried when I first noticed it was from Berkeley lol. Someone tell me I'm the only one so I can think that this has something to do with me getting in. I know it doesn't, but still.

Interesting. At the risk of sounding like a brat I was a little sad I got an email for RD instead of a phone call although I was just happy to hear either way!!! I am pretty sure I would have no idea what to say anyway if I got a phone call...

I know. However, is it possible that maybe I had the post started when you wrote that and submitted it after you? Anyways, just so everyone knows, T6 said it first.
