That pretty much describes how I feel right now, especially since GULC just made me bite the curb and smashed its foot down on top of my skull.rockthelaw wrote:I have this image of your app as a Roman gladiator that's been beaten to hell, and the opposing gladiator/adcomm is standing over your app, sword drawn. He looks to the emperor/dean for a "recommendation," a thumbs up or down. The emperor puts your case "under review," wondering whether to "split" you in half, or split the difference and let you live.jk11287 wrote:Idk, schools don't like splitters cause we bring down their medians, not because they just have some weird bias...its all about the numbers, the gpa that they have to report is the LSDAS. So I can't really see them "taking" your degree gpa instead to make you not a splitter anymore.
Although, my university gpa is a 3.78 w/a double major and only 3.23 LSDAS and I have the weird in-limbo "in review...recommendation received," so who knows.
This is what stress does to my brain. Either way, good luck.

I love when we can compare hitting F5 all day to being in life or death combative states....

Ha, I just called Fordham to ask what "In Review-Recommendation Received" meant, and they were like...um...I have no idea what that is.
So that's good.
So that's good.

Admissions e-mail at 4:38 PM. So pumped. Checked it as I was heading out the door. I hope to God this isn't a prank e-mail from my roomates.
Received and complete 11/16/09!

Congrats to the new admits! I am really sorry Fordham is rejecting people.
I think wanting to go to Fordham should count as a soft, and the school should be prohibited from outright rejecting anyone who can show the school is their #1.

I'm not sure what to do - scream or cry. Fordham is my number one choice, so needless to say, this feels amazing.

Congrats! Screaming and crying are both appropriate responses. I lost my voice for hours and had to get someone else to notify my next of kin. Now, go start a Fordham 2013 thread, if you are certain you will be going. I met some of my best friends here in the land of Fordham '12.beebs wrote:![]()

Re: Fordham Waiting Room
Thanks guys! I found out via status checker early this afternoon, and got the email a few minutes ago. I've spent most of the day on the phone telling my family and friends! Needless to say, I've been totally useless at work. My best friend are I are going out the dinner to celebrate - I am so happy to be staying in New York City!

BEEBS!!! Congratulations! That is just fantastic - hooray!
So, here's my theory about the weird "in review" status. I'm wondering if maybe our
apps were so unique, for whatever reason, that there has to be some kind of faculty review?
As in, the "recommendation" is coming from the ad com, one way or the other?
Oy. Grasping. At. Straws....

It could mean: "They do not have numbers, we usually would waitlist them, but this one thing is really awesome and we want to hear other people's opinions before deciding"
Or: "Usually these numbers will get you in, but there is this anomoly in the application which is sending up a big red flag and we need to look closer"

Spoke to someone at Fordham today, she said anything you send them will be added to your file and it will be set aside until they do a second review in March. She said she recommends waiting on the LOCIs because you might have more to tell them later on.

I'm so excited - I'm going to pick up a Fordham Law sweatshirt and wear it to bed everynight. As cliche as this sounds, I feel like the luckiest kid in the world today.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
