Thanks for your response! Congratulations on your acceptancejumbo2016 wrote:My acceptance was postmarked 5 days after my interview and I didn't get it until the very end of the week following my interview, which was a Tuesday evening.abc__ wrote:Hey guys,
Have most people gotten accepted after group interviews? Has anyone gotten waitlisted? For those who have had group interviews, did you actually hear back within the 2 week time frame that was specified?
I’m a reverse splitter and I just had a group interview this week. It seems like most people have had positive experiences with the interviews but I honestly didn’t feel good about mine at all, I wish I’d had more time to speak or articulate myself. Is it way way way too early to e-mail a why georgetown. Should I wait to send it in case I get waitlisted?

Cool beans, thanks!Leslieknopepawnee wrote:dony_tanza wrote:How do you know it's "preferred" waitlist?Leslieknopepawnee wrote:Got preferred WL today. My numbers are low so I'm not really surprised. Trying to remain optimistic that I can get off of it eventually!
It reads, you're on the preferred waitlist blah blah blah... "Applicants on the Preferred Waiting List are among those we would like to include in our first year class. These applicants have the strongest credentials of all waiting list candidates and, as a result, receive priority consideration if spaces become available. "
Idk what my real chances are though

Hello, just stopping by to add more fuel to the "crazy fire." After seeing this I went on my status checker today and noticed my mailings section looked larger. Just checked the mail and I had an acceptance letter waiting for me... So this may actually be a thing.BertYoo wrote:wait is this really a thing? i just checked mine and it does seem larger...OLitch wrote:I too noticed a change with the mailings section on the same day (11/20.) I'm pretty sure nothing happens with the status checker after you go complete, and any further info will be emailed.gamerish wrote:Do we need to keep the status checker around after acceptance? Do they release finaid information through it or something?

Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
In!!!
I submitted 11/10 and it's postmarked 11/30. Splitter, average-ish softs, no interview; I'll happily PM stats.
To further feed the crazy, I think my mailings section is closer in size to my fees/letters of rec. section (2 letters) than requirements (i.e. a little bigger).

Mine was larger than the requirement box. Looked like it could hold maybe three lines worth of info? Not sure if it was always that big, or if it has just changed for everyone, but if that is the case it is quite a weird coincidence that I noticed it when my letter happened to come in.atlantiz wrote:ok how big is it? if the box got bigger...mine is almost same size with requirement list which has nothing in it.

For those that have been accepted, was your acceptance letter sent to your current address or permanent address? Assuming they are different.

Current, also - even though I freaked out about waiting for the envelope to make it overseas so I called to ask that they send the letter to my permanent address... it turned out that the letter was postmarked the same day I called so I guess it was too late... got here eventually, though!PrincessUnikitty wrote:Currentramadar wrote:For those that have been accepted, was your acceptance letter sent to your current address or permanent address? Has anyone heard an official date for the admitted students open house? Acceptance letter said "late January," so was just wondering if a date had been finalized!

For those who have been invited to alum interviews...I submitted the form to request one - what happens next? Should I expect an email?

Yes. From the alumna/alumnus. Email said to give it two weeks. If you haven't heard by then, contact the admissions office.cdavis1024 wrote:For those who have been invited to alum interviews...I submitted the form to request one - what happens next? Should I expect an email?

Ok cool, just wanted to be sure. I'll try not to chew my fingernails off knowing that it will be at least 2 weeks before I even need to check my status since nothing will happen until my interview....was really hoping for a decision before the holidays, but that's looking more and more like a pipe dream. Sigh
