Hardcore splitter...

Did we confirm any correlation between ur2 dates and notifications? Or is it utterly meaningless? Other wild speculations?
Went UR2 on Monday, and also curious about this!

Does NYU give merit-based scholarships beyond the ones we have to write essays for? Like do they ever offer money even if you didn't apply for any scholarships?

Yes. On the admitted students website, it says that in addition to the programmatic scholarships for which you write essays, they also give Dean's Awards based on merit and need. Also: "A small number of enrolling students who demonstrate exceptional merit will be awarded Vanderbilt Scholarships. Vanderbilt Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic excellence, professional and other extra-curricular accomplishments, and potential to become a successful leader in the legal profession."

The Vanderbilts were obscenely rich. There's a Vanderbilt Hall at NYU, too.

This is somewhat comforting to me, although my last UR date was way back in October. At least something's happening.
