Does this ridiculous round of dings make anybody else think that Yale is looking for something specific and those of us with good but not unbelievable stats, plus very strong softs maybe have a chance?

Or do you just have to be 180/4.0/military/cured a rare neurological disorder?

Beyond a certain level of qualification I think it's kind of a crapshoot. I know they're interested in the demographics of their class, i.e. undergraduate composition, geographic distribution, variety of work experience, variety of academic backgrounds, etc.

They're also not super KJD friendly... maybe you have to be 180/4.0/military/cured a rare neurological disorder if you're a KJD, and otherwise they're looking for cool work softs

With last year's 1L class only having 19% being KJD that means a total of 40 people straight out of college. With the 75% being 176 LSAT and 3.97 GPA, conceivably only 10 people were enrolled straight out of college with 176 or better.

I don't get the sense that the YLS admissions process is particularly tough on KJD students. The low percentage of KJD's reflects a) the low percentage of KJD applicants and b) the fact that it's a bit harder to fill up your resume without going out into the workplace. I know the numbers of about five KJD students in my year (from TLS) and all were typical for YLS, but not astronomical.

I think COB on the 28th is a good rule of thumb, but I would honestly do everything I can to submit it tonight so you aren't fretting / in case something goes wrong.

I feel like they will accept your application until 11:59pm EST on the 28th, but do you want to be the person who submitted his application at 11:59pm EST on the 28th?

Funny, there is actually a Supreme Court case about this very topic.

YLS says All applications must be submitted no later than February 28, 2014. I think the plain meaning is that you have until the end of February 28th, presumably 11:59, but maybe end of business. But always better safe than sorry... Is there information on the LSAC website when you're working on your app? Giterdone!

so how many people ITT are clutching it? I want to submit it by later tonight but I got a bad night's sleep so I think I'm gonna take a nap and then wake up to proofread the PDF

I'm thinking if I get it in with a 2/27 timestamp, it's indisputably timely and will be processed tomorrow (hopefully).

planning on submitting no later than tomorrow morning... would love to have it all done tonight. wish i'd taken work off today to finish up, but someone else is already on vay-kay.
