I submitted 11/6 and have heard nothing so far.

176/3.9/URM and I wrote a Why UVA

I was accepted to UVA last year with a 163 LSAT score. I wonder if me being a reapplicant is negatively affecting me in some way.

Um, no. She might get straight up dinged next year.

If you like it take it. No point in seeing whats behind door number 2013/14
Unless she gets a 170+ on the LSAT...

I have no idea what to read from anything I have seen on this thread. Some people with close to 4.0's are getting full rides 5 days after they go complete, others with identical scores have been waiting since September. People way above both medians are getting sat on (or waitlisted) while people below them are getting in with money.

Maybe YP is true and it is just weird to watch happen in real time. I guess it would be helpful if people said if they were residents/urm/ed or not.

No exact definitions are available, you've just gotta deal with uncertainty. Or you can accept the postings of 21 year old law school admissions internet experts who say things like "If you have a 169 you're out of luck. Retake the LSAT. If you get a 170 you'll definitely get in."

Awww waitlisted. 3.8x, 174 - was really thinking about UVA, especially if I could grab a decent scholly. I suppose this commences the grovelling stage.

Wtf? Do not grovel with those numbers. They should be the ones grovelling. Just go elsewhere, you're going to have plenty of options

Write a solid Why UVA? and expect to get between 105-135k in scholly.

It's because they want to know the candidate is seriously considering the school rather than using it as nothing more than a backup to HYS.

Edit: I am assuming you don't know what YP is, sorry if you do and this was overtly elementary.

I do know what YP is...I just had temporarily forgotten to consider it. That definitely makes sense.

Did you write a yUVA?
No, I only learned about yield protecting while browsing around TLS a couple months after I submitted my app. Off to research my Why UVA!

Just wondering. Does UVA send out decisions within 15 days of going complete for RD? or is this for ED? Sorry if my question has been answered. Tried looking through the earlier posts, but couldnt find anything

15 days is guaranteed for ED. RD can be all the way up to the last day. It would be rare for a RD to hear back within 15 days.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
